Comments: I like the idea of this product, but I have had some problems in the 1 1/2 years I've owned it. I have the earliest version, so it is very inconvenient to reach the carbon media because you have to detach the hood hinges and prop it up. Also, after about 1 year, one of my light fans stopped working, which I didn't realize until the lights would not turn on and part of the hood melted. There was no warning until the damage was done. I purchased the skimmer upgrade, which works fine, except that I need to add water about every other day or air blows out of one pump. And, shortly after 1 year, one of my air pumps stopped working and needed to be replaced. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Excellent!

Comments: Having maintained reef aquariums for 20 years, I must say I am "blown away" by the engineering and ease of setup of this system. I have had my 130D RedSeaMax for 4 months and have it stocked with LPS and SPS corals, 15 fish, and15 cleaner crew inverts. It is mere perfection! Everything is thriving, growing and happy. Lighting and filtration/ skimming is awesome. Timer with moon LED's is a nice feature. I used live rock from the get go to keep nitrates down from day one. I had fish in the tank within 5 days of adding [distilled] saltwater. I had compared this system to all the "all-inclusive" reef setups out there. It simply cannot be beat. What you get for your money is second to none, in my opinion. If you follow the simple directions, you will be sitting in front of your reef tank sooner than you think, enjoying nature's underwater beauty!! Have fun! :-) Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.
