Comments: This is my second bulb. My first bulb came with the Pendant I bought for my 35-gal marine aquarium reef. I'm new to the hobby (started the aquarium 8 months ago), and have been learning as I go by reading articles, talking to people, etc. One of the big problems I had was red algae outbreaks. The guy at the LFS kept telling me to change my light bulb. I thought that seemed so silly, like the light spectrum changes that much ... yeah right. Well, he WAS right. I finally broke down and ordered this replacement bulb. The next day when I came home and the light was on, the whole corner of my room seemed ... different. Brighter. Whiter. And it WAS! They're not kidding when they say to replace these bulbs every 8 months. I'm a believer now, and will follow that religiously. The bright white light is much more pleasing to look at than the yellow-ish light of the old bulb (same vendor/model/etc). I spent the weekend enjoying cleaning the tank, organizing the rocks, cleaning out detritus from my pump inlets, etc. My tank looks like a pro's tank now. If you can't remember when you replaced your halide bulb last, just replace it. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I have used Ushio bulbs 250W 10,000K for about five years and I find them to out preform most Halides for growth of corals & brings out the best natural color. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I purchase 3 bulbs for my 150 gallon reef aquarium. The retrofit system I purchased from MarineDepot an incorporated into my art deco aquarium cabinet I designed and build 8 years ago, (I'm a cabinet maker) uses 3 175W metal halide and 2 96w powercompact double bulbs. Two of the bulbs work and look fine, one was defective and I just sent it back for replacement. This can happen with any bulb. The light produced is not as white as the 20000k, but that is to be expected. I purchase them because they were on special. I think they will do the job. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: WOW what a difference!!! These bulbs are "realy" bright and give of a clear white color, no yellow tint like my old bulbs. Very happy :) Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I have 2 of these bulbs currently in my 75g. I have only had them a short time but the light they put out is amazing. I don't think you could find a better bulb. I do reccomend acetinc (blue light) to accompany them. My fish and coral are soaking it up and loving every minute. They do put off some heat but just as long as you have some fans to accompany them it will not effect your temp. I have them about 7 inches of the water and they still have a nice penatration to the bottom. GREAT BULB!!! Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: These bulbs are tried and true. Mostly white color with a hint of yellow spectrum. After exchanging one defective bulb I am satisfied with the purchase. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I'm very satisfied with this bulb. We just purchased (3)250 watt Ushio bulbs to replace (3) generic German bulbs we used for the last year. These Metal Halides are used with 4-96w actinics, and our corals are doing great. With all seven bulbs on, I think it's a little too yellow in appearance, but that's just personal preference. Like I said, our corals have never done better or looked as good. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I ordered 2 of these bulbs back in January of this year (2007) and one of them stopped working only 11 months later. First time that I've had this short of a life span with a metal halide. I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: Bulb provides a wonderful white light. I think "snow" is great term to describe it. I had to move some of my mushrooms because they didn't open as much directly under the light. My anemones appear much healthier after a couple of weeks under this light. I did not previously have a MH. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: You have have great service. The lights arrived in just a few days, packaged very well with no chance of breakage. The light quality, however, is not to my liking. They're not near as bright as I had hoped and have a yellow tint to them. I will not purchase 10000K bulbs again, but will go back to my tried and true 14000k bulbs which give off a fantastically realistic color. This is no reflection on the company though. You have fast reliable service and I will purchase from you again. I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I purchased this bulb to replace an older Iwasaki bulb. The Iwasaki is a workhorse with incredible PAR and a long lifespan even if the color is not ideal for aesthetics. I alternate with 6500K and 10000K lamps on some tanks. This bulb was recommended to me and I had not tried it before. The bulb lit well, the PAR was very high for a 10K bulb, but it failed after a few weeks. With your excellent customer service, was able to replace it quickly and we ascertained with the manufacturer that the ballast/bulb combination was correct. The second bulb was equally good, providing crisp white light but then failed after two months. I am now on my third replacement bulb. I cannot say why I am having a high failure rate with this bulb but it is functionally and aesthetically excellent. I hope this one continues to burn for me. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: Would not recommend the 175w--10K bulbs from Ushio. Have had issues on last 2 orders with 1 of the 2 bulbs firing and had to send back for replacement. You guys always stand behind replacement but same issue twice using a Pulse type ballast for this bulb type. I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: Very nice white color with just a tinge of green/yellow color temp. Looks better with actinics to bring the blues out, but not bad on its own. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.
