Had to replace my original fan in my reef tank light fixture and this one was the manufacturers recommendation. It fit perfect but is extremely loud. Not sure if I will keep it or have to find another fan to replace it with.

I am returning my new fan. Screaming loud, bad bearings or something. As others have said, difficult to swap out. I had to cut wires, all black. Try to connect to see which power wire was which one so the fan would blow in the right direction then twist wires together. There isn't any room for big fingers to manover so you have to take the whole side off and be careful not to pull out any wires. Bad design. But the fan was very loud, didn't blow as well as I had hoped, and eventually after 2 days started screaming. I replaced my old one because it was getting loud. This one out of the box was louder. I'll let you know after I now return it and try it again..I threw away my old fan. Not too happy about taking everything apart again.

The fans are quiet at first, but seem to have a poorly manufactured bearing. One failed (developed an unbearably loud screeching sound) within a month, and two others failed within 6 months. Given how hard they are to replace in my light unit, I'm disappointed that I have to replace them so frequently, but I don't know of another option that fits.

This is a nice replacement for the stock one. Its made of Metal and is powder coated the pictures on the website make it look cheap. But this thing is Beefy, great buy & So Easy to hook up. Come people don't pay someone loads of cash to replace your fan when you can do it your self in under 20 min's

Great fan. Easy to install. For all you new to fan replacement. Installation instructions are as follows: Turn off electrical power to hood(or remove plug from wall socket). Disconnect 3 wires for fan leads (mark wires with respective colors removed). Remove 4 nuts from old fan. Remove old fan. Remove 4 bolts from old fan, reinstall in new fan. install fan in hood. Reinstall 4 nuts. Reconnect wires. If connecting direct to outlet buy a 3 prong socket end from a hardware store. Green wire connects to the round plug, black and white wires connect to either flat ones. There is no + or - as long as the green wire goes to the round (ground) plug, just pick one for the black and white.

I have never replaced anything on an electrical device before, but to replace my current outer orbit was too expensive, I decided to replace the broken cooling fans instead. The fans arrived very fast, and after a few tries, on getting them out, then remembering how to put them back in, it was a huge success!!!! Thank you Guys for everything!!!!

This fan moves a good quantity of air, however, it is definitely louder than the original fans the light came with. I would consider other fans than this one because of the noise, can't believe other reviewers are calling this fan quiet.

A little noisy at start up but after a few minutes it seems to even out. It just might be a warming up process. Directions to hook up would have been helpful. Just a thought!

The fan is working great. Was easy to install. Much quieter than the original fan that was on my aquarium light. Would recommend this product.
