Comments: This thing is super loud, they used cheap high volume fans that are probably around 30-40db each (3 of them for the 36" model). The hood and ballast fans are the loudest thing on my system, eclipsing the return pump and skimmer. I contacted Current USA and their reply was basically that quiet fans are expensive, the good ones aren't available for OEM use, and recommended SilenX fans from NewEgg... It's still a good deal IMO, but expect to DIY replace the fans if you have this in a living room. The fans included are all AC fans, and most of the quiet fans are DC, so it's a non-trivial amount of work to swap them. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: It a simple and easy to use lighting system> can have Dark spots around center of tank though. And the Hanging Kit is a Pain to put in and will put 4 HUGE ancor holes in you ceiling (you will need to to more then just Spackle to fix holes) also had to change Lamps after a few months color was altering. Overall acceptable system for the price i guess Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: Because we like the Sunpods so much, this is the third unit we have purchased. We have a 48-inch 2x250 for our 90 gallon reef tank (5.55 watts per gallon) and it has exceeded our expectations. Our newest Sunpod unit is a 20-inch 1x250 for our Biocube 29 gallon reef tank (translates to about 12.5 watts per gallon!). It is replacing a 20-inch 1x70 Sunpod unit (3.5 watts per gallon). I believe the 70 watt units have been discontinued, and it did not provide adequate lighting for the Biocube. But I am still happy I have it because I will use the fixture as an awesome refugem light for the 90-gallon tank. We like the Sunpods because they are an all-in-one light unit that provides a combination of moon lights and MH. The stock 14K HQI bulbs provide a good middle of the road lighting and are easy to switch out if you have preference for a different K rating. The units are easy to maintain and service. As with any MH lighting, you need to monitor tank water temperatures and possibly utilize a supplemental fan or chiller. Ballasts provide a smooth start-up of the MH lights and the unit fans produce minimal sound. We give an enthusiastic knod of the head and thumbs up for this product, and appreciate the competitive pricing that they make available to their customers! Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: After having 8x24W T5HO over my 40gallon SPS and not getting the colors where I thought they could be, I decided to go the Metal Halide route. It's only been a few weeks but the corals that wouldn't color up under T5's are doing very, very well under the new lighting. My blue digita is gradually turning from brown to blue..the base first and a few polyps at the tips. I'm very happy! Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I researched extensively for the perfect lighting setup for my 50 gallon cube and decided the SunPod 20" HQI was a very reasonably priced MH that had all the features I was looking for. I was pleasantly surprised that this product exceeded my expectations. The colors of my corals as well as my other invertebrates have seemingly EXPLODED and they look better than they ever did! They shipped my order with the utmost care and are awesome to deal with. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I completed a lot of research before deciding on this model and I was not disappointed. The lighting is beautiful and the fan noise is minimal. I have not noticed a rise in water temp on my 44 gallon pentagon, either. I couldn't be more pleased - my live rock is bursting into color before my eyes! The LED's are awesome at night. I waited two years to upgrade my lighting; wish I had done it sooner! Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I bought the 72" Current USA SunPod 3x150W 14K HQI-MH w/ 24 Lunar Lights. The color is absolutely amazing! Its so vibrant it like walking out on a sunny day. The other great part is everything is modular so if one of your moonlight sets go out. Remove 2 screws and you have access to everything. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: Good quality product at a good price with included legs, hanging kit and canopy brackets. Fan is a bit loud but not excessive. Light is very bright and at 14K is quite blue which like an actinic will bring cause your corals to fluoresce. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: It was obviously a quality product on arrival. My husband was impressed; it was easy to put together. The lights are clear and bright; my carpet anemone reaches for the lights and was very playful with the clown the night it was put up. The fan is extremely quiet and if it isn't, I read the reviews, then there is a major problem and it can happen with the best of lights. The mounting brackets fit nicely on the aquarium and are the perfect height so that you can run a diatom for crystalized water without it splashing the light. The glass is perfect around the Halide, can be screwed off. My husband was extremely happy, always complained about changing my bulbs. Believe it or not, I think it is even clearing my algae that I had starting :-) I'm quite pleased and at night I can see the scooters and mandarin if up and make sure things are fine, whereas I use to use a small flashlight before even with with the old lunar lights. Halides do heat up the tank, may need a chiller this summer; temp is around 80-82 and it is quite stylish looking on my aquarium as well. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: The 20" one fits perfectly on my 29g biocube. This thing is loud, both the fixture and ballast. But It's the best in its price range and I just love it. For only couple days, my corals already start showing better growth. The white and blue LEDs are on separate power cords that gives me a lot of flexibilities to mimic natural lighting. Of course the LEDs look better then those products sold separately. The design makes it easier to replace dead parts and bulb. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: The supod works as it should. The fans are very loud compared to the competition. The balast take quite a while to heat the bulb up to full light and the bulb does not produce a 14k spectrum as well as the pheonix bulb. I say its a good light, just replace the fan, and bulb right from the start and you will be very happy with the sunpod Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: This is a great lighting system overall/for the money. The color of the light is awesome as can be expected from MH. It seems to me that the system could be set a little better - it has 5 different plugs! 1 for each of the leds, one for the fan system and one for each balast.. = 5. For the price manufacturers sell these fixtures.. they should be well integrated and and easy to turn on/off. The Fan system is loud but it is the only way I guess to keep the fixture from melting under the MHs heat. On the positive side, I love the look on top of my front bow tank, the light is great and it is made of high quality materials (doesn't look like some cheap lighting system). Really it is nice. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: WOW! What a difference a lighting change makes. I purchased the Current SunPod 14K HQI-MH w/Lunar Lights to replace the stock lid-type hood with sunlight/actinic compacts on my Current 24-gal aquapod. Installation and operation were a snap with this unit and all cords are easy to conceal.. Directions were clear and the kit gives the option to place the light unit directly on the tank or to hang it from the ceiling. The kit even included timers that operate 4 separate plugs!My fish, inverts and newly purchased hard corals seem to thrive in the halide light and the tank looks sharp. This SunPod also allows me to add a badly needed Tunze 9200 protein skimmer to replace my Current Fission nano protein skimmer.The only other upgrade I needed to make was to add a compact fan unit on the back of my tank to mitigate the heat incurred by the strong halide light. It raised the temp in my tank by 5 degrees F until I added the fan to dissipate the heat from the lighting unit. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: My first aquarium, I may have spend easily over 40 hours researching about lights, this is the one where the functionality and aesthetic comes together. Perfect light. I read prior to getting it that the fans are too load. They do make sound since it is a moving part but I cannot hear it over my HOB filter and air bubbles in the aquarium and certainly looks beautiful. Will recommend to buy. I was also concerned that 250W will be too much but any thing less than that would be small for my 55G tank and the twelve LED are perfect for night viewing while working as a perfect night light for the house. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

My only complaint is the volume of the fans in the ends of the fixture. They seem fairly loud to me and I will most likely be looking to replace them with something quieter. Comments: I have been really impressed with this lighting fixture. I bought the 250 watt version for my 28 gallon Bio Cube. I must say, my corals/ rose bubble tip anemone loves the extra light and it makes everything pop out. It really puts my 100g to shame. My only problem, the fans that come with it don't seem to be strong enough to keep the temp low on the tank. An addition of a clip on fan solved that problem. I really love this light! Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: Purchased this light for my 24 gallon Aquapod...and was very impressed with the light right out of the box. The shimmer of the MH light is nothing short of amazing and really adds a nice touch to any reef tank. The fan is remarkably quite. The LEDS are very bright and nicely spaced to give an even application of light across the entire surface of the live rock display. No complaints at all from me on this light. Comments: I moved up from Power compacts as I wanted to try more challenging corals. I have a 20 gal reef tank and could not fit the metal halide model with two built-in blue T5HOs. I was able to fit and bought a single T5HO fixture and placed it next to this one. I have the blue actinic light come on before and stay on after this light for the dawn/dusk effect. (The blue actinic light is not necessary, but what the heck.) I like the independent control of the six white and six blue moonlight LEDs that are part of the Current SunPod. (The white LEDs could be used in place of the separate blue T5HO for the dawn/dusk effect and the blue LEDs for the moonlight effect). I think it is a great light for the money. The fan did rattle a bit intermittently, but stopped by itself after a while. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I went from the standard lighting of the 24g Aquapod to this light and I was blown away. My corals look more vibrant than ever and the shimmering effect that this light gives off makes the tank look like the sun is actually cutting through the water. If you are switching to this light just make sure that you can move your corals that don't need as much light down towards the bottom of the tank; otherwise they will tend to stay closed up more. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: The light output is great and the manufacturing of the assembly is top notch. The fan in the ballast is noisy, but the fan in the light hood is noisier. If the unit had two lower speed ( and noise level ) fans, one pushing cool air in and one pushing hot air out, it would be much nicer, and a somewhat redundant arrangement over the single-fan setup as is. There are *four* cables needed for operation - main MH light, fan, 10K LED and blue LED. There should be a way to use less cables. I would recommend this light only with reservations about the fan noise. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: The light works great - gives the desired shimering effect, provides my reef with the necissary light to grow the corals I have/will aquire, along with giving off a very nice dawn to dusk effect. The 12 lunar lights is a great feature, however, the 6 white with my 2 other lunar lights from my Current Orbit PC light the reef up too much. I only use the 6 Blue with the sepperate daylight in the front. This gives thte reef a beautiful nighttime lighting dim enough for things to rest and bright enough for me to stil catch a glimpse of what's going on. Perfect light for deep aquariums. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I love the new light I ordered. I bought the 20 inch Current USA SunPod 1x250W 14K HQI-MH w/ 12 Lunar Lights. First, I emailed the customer service for help because I have an odd shaped tank, as it is very tall and narrow, so, finding a lighting apparatus that did not come with the tank was very challenging. They were able to take the measurements I provided and recommended this light. It is exactly what I wanted. The light was shipped quickly, and I was able to track the shipping the entire time. The product was packaged very well, and there was nothing broken or missing. It was easy to assemble and looks amazing. The 250 watts really lights up the tank, and the LED lights give it such a cool effect. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Current did a booboo in packing and left out a transformer in each and i thought it was gonna be a hassel trying to get replacements but with one call to MD they are having the additional ones sent to me no hassel. I am impressed and i will be shopping with these people again! Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: one of the nicest fixtures i have seen myself, i custom modded it to fit my 5.5 gallon (though it would have fit with the leg stands) and i will still be able to use it when i upgrade to a 10 gallon, the hqi light is awesome and as blinding as the sun, the white and blue moon lights definatly give a nice subtle effect for night viewing all in all a great product for the price A+ Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I love the lighting from this fixture. It was easy to install and produces vibrant colors. The bulb it shipped with did fail, but thanks to marine depot it was quickly replaced with no hassle. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I bought a 150w a while back for my 20g and i thought it was too dim, so i got the 250w and its great it has the perfect amount of light...However i did need a chiller and i had to mount it to the ceiling so i could adjust the light...Its a great light but with MH theres a lot of heat so you will need a chiller, so be prepared but go for it you wont regret it... Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: Considering it's the cheapest halide out there I'd say it exceeded my expectations. The ballast is in the fixture which could give me some heat issues but I installed it in a custom canopy and made sure to leave 10 inches between the light and tank. The color of the bulb is a good middle ground between 10k and 20k. I ended up adding a 55W true actinic pc and now the setup is complete with halide, pc and lunar lights all on separate timers. It's pretty impressive. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: Its an excellent lamp, the balast is not mount in the unit so you can place it any where, the lunar and blue leds are excelent. I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: Great lamp but, it has in-built balaster, makes the lamp heavy and noisy. but the amount of light you just can´t beat it I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: owned a orbit for a years flawless, i decided to upgrade. the light it produces is unreal, the 14k bulb is prefect balance between 10 and 20 k the 12 moons light are perfect, truly an amazing light Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: This was a great upgrade to our 110 gallon reef tank.With 250 watts, our corals love it!The moon LEDs make the tank look great as well.The 250 watt version comes with 2 timers,legs and hanging mounts. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.
