I stocked up on these kits for my older MJ. While I prefer the little bit wider and high flow from these mods than what now is included with the new Maxijets. The diameter of the magnet on the new style has changed to a wider. I doubt these kits will work well on new MJ model.
So stock up if you have the older style MJ pump housings.

This kit is a wonderful idea and works great utilizing the time-tested reliability of the maxi-jet pumps to generate water movement. A WORD OF CAUTION: after I found my Naso Tang stuck to the shroud of the Sure Flow, I should have stopped using it immediately or switched to the smaller impeller. Since I continued to use the pumps, now I have lost 2 of my tangs due to being sucked up and stuck to the shroud of the Sure Flow.

I purchased this trying to add more flow to my tank. I have the Maxi-Jet hooked up to a wave-maker. I noticed right away that the impeller provided was much louder on the on-off cycles even though it was well seated into the Maxi-Jet. Two weeks later I came home to a sand storm in the tank. The socket part of the bracket had broken and the pump had fallen off. I figure the on/off cycling of the pump created a stress fracture of the plastic and caused it to fail. There was a definite increase of flow in the tank, so it might work well with a constantly running pump (no cycling on/off) just be careful with wave makers.

A great alternative to the DIY mod for the maxijet line of pumps. I was very, very impressed with the power of the Sure Flow kits. With just 2 of the Maxijets and the Sure Flow I have plenty of movement in my tank. I am using them in an alternating pattern and my fish really like them. Just didn't have time for the DIY mod and this is so much better looking.

This kit has some wicked flow. This blows away the other mod I previously had on the same maxi-jet. I bought 2 of these for my 90g and it gives wicked flow top to bottom. Will definately buy more in the future and recommend them to others.

Great product, have only tested it as it's intended to be used, and it works fantastically, my 40 gallon long is vicious with just one of these, but I actually got two for setting up a pvc manifold project to make a directional flow tank, and that parts not set up yet, but thats on my end of the deal, these guys however have their part done and done right!

The kit turns a work horse power head with a narrow stream into a good looking small power head that creates a wide river. My corals are open more and seem to sway rater than being blown over. The added water movement in tank is just incredible I have a 72" long tank and movement covers the hole length. I wanted and got better flow in the tank. Buy this kit.

The upgrade kit went together easy and works very well except the directions could have been a little more clear on how it goes together. I am using the larger propeller for the Maxi- Jet 1200 and getting lots of water flow. I really like this product very much.

It's wonderful to see, in this expensive marine aquarium hobby, a piece of equipment that is inexpensive and does a great job. It's like I put my Maxijet 600 on steroids. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who needs to increase the flow in their aquarium with an already owned Maxijet. There are plenty of adapters that come with it to fit most powerheads. Just a note, if your suction cups on the mounting bracket are getting a little old. Get some new ones, they're also cheap and I can see if this thing falls to the bottom, you'll have a major hurricane in your tank.
