Comments: This product is not accurate at all, varies from 2 to 4 degrees. This thermometer can be used at a animal hospital at best. Rectal thermometers are considered to be the most accurate however this does not work. I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I wish this equipment would be more precise. I ordered two sensors and they vary by over two degrees when placed next to each other. There isn't a way to calibrate to fix this. I hoped this would be more accurate. I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: Great idea, love that it's wireless, but totally inaccurate! Like several other reviewers, I checked it against multiple other thermometers to prove it was way off after getting wild reading. Was surprised to read someone else with my same experience of it starting out 1.5 degrees off, then going to 3 degrees too high. I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I purchased this thermometer because I really wanted accurate readings for my salt water tank. It was easy to set up and I loved being able to put the receiver in a place that would be easy for me to check. Unfortunately, the first one I purchased read 4 degrees higher than the real temperature. (I was checking it against two mercury thermometers.) It was replaced with another one. The second one initially reported accurate temperatures, then over a period of time, is now 4 degrees higher. There is no electrical or signal interference of any kind, so I'm not sure what the deal is. This product was a great disappointment. I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: The thermometer is off (high) by at least 5 degrees daily. No way to adjust or calibrate it. Wish I'd have never spent the money. I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: Worst product even purchased. Very inaccurate and cannot be trusted. Always off by 5 to 7 degrees (using fresh batteries) which could be disastrous to a reef aquarium. I have tested 3 thermometers including my aqua logic dual-stage and a inexpensive Coralife none have ever matched the American Pinpoint (which is made in CHINA) and not American! I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: Set up was easy, but I can see a couple of design flaws. 1) the stand practically lays the display monitor flat. I keep the device on a shelf. I taped a credit card to the stand to extend it. This fixed that. 2) a weight should be in the probe as it almost floats. The probe only wants to go down a few inches with the cringled wire above it. So far it seems to be reporting accurate temps. I have a floating thermo to compare it to and they are both reporting correctly. Overall I am happy with the product. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I have two sensors in my sump sitting right next to each other. The reading is always off by at least 1.5 degree and the difference varies. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: Need to measure the room temperature at one place and display it at another place. Have had it just a few days, it does exactly that. Sensor unit sends a reading to the display every minute or so. That works for my purpose, probably helps batteries last a claimed 18 months. How much extra cost would be added to the unit to include a button sequence that would send a reading every 10 seconds? Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: Great product. This totally helps monitor temp with multiple tanks and when doing a water change. All three of the sensors I purchased are identical. I could not live without this, worth every penny! Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: Just found out it is about 5 degrees too high. I wasted weeks researching a chiller. Decided to get a normal thermometer and just found out that it is off 4.7 degrees. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: My favorite new tank toy! A little pricey, but the piece of mind is worth it. Plus, I love that I can have the monitor on my desk and keep an eye on the temp all day (especially in these hot summer months!). Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I compared this monitor's readings to a certified, calibrated laboratory-quality mercury thermometer, it was off by varying deviations. Mind you, if the Pinpoint unit was consistently, say, 1.6 degrees too high or low one could calculate true temperature by using such a standard correction; but the Pinpoint product was just as erratic as it was inaccurate. One day +1.2 the next day -1.5--the only way to know was to compare to the mercury thermometer. Worse, this thing was subject to repeated interference from other wireless devices despite its own sender being mounted within 2 feet of the monitor. I didn't buy it to learn the outside temperature. I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I was using an infrared laser and a thermocoupler to cross monitor my water temperature to within a tenth of a degree. The pin point wireless, matches to within .2 degrees of my set point. The stand on the back of the display does not stand it up high enough, it's more in a laid down position. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: The key features that I like about this product are accuracy, ease of set up, centralized monitoring of temperatures and portability of the monitor. It allows me to monitor the temperatures of my main tank, my quarantine tank, the replenishment tank for my main tank and my reserve tank that contains the new salt water that I am aging for the water exchanges. They are all in different locations of my house. I wish that I had know about them before. My only complaint is that when I replace the batteries, I will need to manually registered each sensor which is a hassle. It means having to remove the battery plate of each sensor (4 small screws), remove and reinsert the batteries and go through the registration process of each unit and then replace the covers and the screws. This will also mean that you will need to keep note as to the order that you did the replacement in order to know which Station # relates to which remote sensor. American Marine should make a minor design change in the electronics of the monitor by just adding a very small capacitor and add some additional circuitry to hold a charge long enough to keep the data in the memory while the batteries are replaced. If someone makes a product like that I would be willing to buy it. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: After cycling through all of the cheap thermometers, I finally decided to splurge for the Pinpoint Wireless Thermometer. I couldn't be happier! Its great to know the actual temp of then tank, and I can set up the thermometer right next to my desk to keep an eye on it. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I use this actually as a means to check pond temps...Gives me a quick accurate reading and I can base my feeding schedules without having to guess what the temps are...Sick of the pool type thermometers that were not accurate and read outs that quickly covered with algae Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I can read the exact temperature of four tanks in two rooms while sitting at my desk. Plus it is flat out more accurate than any other thermometer I've used - e.g. my sensors read exactly the same if put in the same tank, and exactly the same as my most reliable digital thermometer. Other thermometers might be 2 or three degrees off. A very minor flaw is that the numbers assigned to the remote sensors (1 through 4) must be reassigned if you turn the thermometer off. However, the batteries last more than a year, so it's not a big issue. If you keep more than one tank going, this is a terrific tool. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I haven't had any problems with it so far. The RF signal works reliably. I trust it more than those old fashioned floating thermometers and the liquid crystal thermometers. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.
