Pinpoint pH calibration fluid is carefully prepared for maximum precision and accuracy. Each packet of PINPOINT pH Calibration Fluid contains ample fluid for calibration (about 30mL). Keeping your probes calibrated will lead to more reliable readings allowing you to know exactly what is going on with your pH.

  • Pinpoint recommends all electronic pH instruments should be calibrated monthly.
  • Compatible with all pH meters and probes.
  • Pinpoint High Precision pH Calibration Solution sold in single use packets.
  • Storable for up to 1 year prior to opening.

Almost all pH monitors and controllers will require two points of reference to accurately monitor the pH that the probe is reading. You will want to use calibration solutions that are on either spectrum of the pH you intend to monitor. For reef tanks where the pH is normally 7.8-8.5 then you would want to use calibration solution 7.0 and 10.01. For calcium reactors on saltwater tanks or freshwater aquariums where the pH is normally below 7.0, you would want to use 4.01 and 7.01 for calibration of the probe.

4.01 pH - The lower threshold reading your pH monitor or controller will require for use with calcium reactors for saltwater aquariums, solutions below 7.00 pH and also most freshwater aquariums.

7.01 pH - Neutral pH calibration packet. This is used by almost all pH monitors and controllers for calibration.

10.01 pH - The higher threshold reading your pH monitor or controller will require for use with saltwater aquariums or solutions above 7.00 pH

Product Questions

Can Pinpoint PH calibration fluid be used to calibrate a Neptune Apex probe?
Question by: Eric on Feb 4, 2016, 7:10 PM
Great question!
The Pinpoint calibration will work perfect with the apex pH probe. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!

I noticed in reviews for the ph calibration, comments about storing the ph probe in a shot glass etc. Are you supposed to do this or can it just stay in the aquarium it's monitoring. Sorry if this question seems illogical, I am new to the controller concept and have one on the way. Thanks,
James

Hey James,
If your going to have the probe out of the tank for a long time you don't want it to dry out, so it should be stored in a probe storage solution. As far as calibration itself goes, most of us just open the top of the calibration solution, submerge the probe in the pouch and follow the controllers calibration procedure.
