Comments: I bought this skimmer through reading countless reviews on the web from other sites and this one. Give the skimmer three weeks before you determine how effective it is for your aquarium. Mag 7 pump is clearly not strong enough. I already owned a Rio 3100. It really performs much better with a Rio 3100. It now skims dark chunky waste. I have to empty the skimmer cup every two days. I own a 125 gal FOWLR tank and the water is colorless. Follow the instructions exactly and it will eliminate frustrations. I recommend this skimmer with a Rio 3100 pump. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: Newer technology is out there (bubble diffuser plates, cone skimmers, custom volutes, etc.), but the EV-180 remains a VERY solid skimmer. I had an EV-120 on my 55g LPS/softie tank for years and never had issues. When I upgraded to a 150g, it was a natural choice to upsize to the EV-180. I am overdriving the 180 with a Mag 9.5. Once broken in, I NEVER have to adjust the level in the skimmer, as long as my sump level stays consistent (sump design can help here, baffles, etc.). Built like a tank, I have never even come close to breaking anything on this unit. My ONLY gripe is that the spray injection nozzle comes off the unit at 90 degrees, instead of a straight barbed fitting. If you have to turn the unit in the sump, you may need to have quite a bend in your pump outlet line to have it line up with the skimmer inlet. Watch your pump inlet for small snails, pieces of algae that can foul the injector nozzle. Overall, fantastic! Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I've been fighting a slime algae plague - one of my issues was that my old skimmer was inadequate for the job on my 90 gal reef. I bought this unit to up my skim rate, and since I have a calcium reactor I use the JG fitting to dose. In two days it removed as much gunk from my tank as my old unit would in a week. Along with some water changes, I've got the algae ~80% beaten back. Still working on that! My only complaint is that if you don't want to use an external cup for the skimmate, you'll have to drill a hole through the top of the collector cup - there isn't any provision for not using an external cup. Not a major issue though.. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: This skimmer is totally amazing. I refuse to believe that there are better ones than this one. Though I didn't use Mag-Drive 7 (because I hooked it up to my current plumbing) I am confident that performance with Mag 7 wouldn't be any lower. In 72 hours I produced more skimmate with this thing than I ever produced with the one I had before. Another beauty is JG Fitting, by hooking up my Calcium Reactor effluent line to it I raised overall tank pH from 8.10 to 8.30 during the day. This purchase was by far my best one and it's very worth the money. P.S. Make sure you FOLLOW ALL OF THE DIRECTIONS in Manual. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: This skimmer is very touchy and hard to adjust. Check out the discussions on the reef forums, you will see what I'm saying. If you put your hand in the water, it won't skim for a few hours. Sometimes it will overflow the collection cup, and sometimes it won't produce skimmate for a long time. Conditions have to be perfect for this to skim properly. It requires a larger than usual pump for optimal operation. I think the company needs to come up with a new design, maybe try using a needle wheel instead. I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I am a long term AquaC user, beginning with an EV-150( predecessor to the EV-180), now an EV-180 and a Remora. All I can say is that no one builds a skimmer that works so effectively in such a small package. I have been and remain extremely pleased with every AquaC product I have purchased. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: these aqua ev skimmers are great. we have 2 tanks (210 & 265) both are running w/aqua ev skimmers and they are crystal clear. skimmer takes a day or so to get going but then it works like a beast. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I have about 180-200 gallons in volume with LPS and SPS. I changed over to the AquaC 180 and the unit pulled junk out the first two days that the other skimmer would take a week to do while using the same Rio 3100 pump. Amazing. I actually see more open polyps with my corals. I highly recommend this unit. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: This I dont know yet since it for my new tank, and so, there's not much "thing" forms the foam yet. But the performance I can tell it's great by the quiet of it when it's running. I INSTALLED IT EXTERNALLY WITH LITTLE PLUMBING (FOLLOW GUIDELINES), THIS SKIMMER IS AMAIZING. An I like the fact of the spray injection skimming idea no more air line hoses. Great product an yes I would recommend this product to a friend from beginner to expert. Comments: After two weeks of running this skimmer, my water went from good, to spectacular. People who saw my tank with my old skimmer running are now stunned by the difference. If you keep messy fish like me (my puffer is a waste machine) I recommend getting the 5 liter waste attachment. Only issue for me was the size. I didn't measure beforehand and I couldn't keep the simmer in the sump without a ton of microbubbles. As a result, there's a bit of water noise coming from under my tank now. Running in the sump, it was rather silent. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: Still being a newbie in many respects, I wanted an easy to set-up skimmer. After researching many brands including MRC, EuroReef, ASM, Octopus, etc, I chose the EV-180. What a fantastic skimmer. It took about 7 days to start skimming and when it did...wow! I am skimming wet and taking out a lot of skimmate. Set-up was easy. The pump was perfectly matched and it has been trouble free. I highly recommend this skimmer. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: Very quiet due to different design. Does the job very well and efficient. Cleaning and removing of cup couldn't be any easier!! Removes a lot of waste from tank. I have a 100gl reef with 30gl sump. It's placed in the return. Highly recommended!! Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: These skimmers are VERY impressive! Turn it on and leave it alone. Virtually NO adjustments or work. Clean the unit once a month (less than 5 minutes) and you're done! Better skimmer than others I have seen or used! Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I've used my AquaC EV-180 in the sump of my 100 gallon SPS reef aquarium for two years. The skimmer takes out about a cup of thick, dark slug everyday. It helps keep nitrate at 0ppm. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.
