Too soon to tell about skimming efficiency as I don't believe it's broken in yet so the skimmate is mostly a light green fluid. The hanging bracket needs work. I had to cut the rim of the tank I'm using it on to get it to fit. Something with a plastic locknut on the back would be better than the current "spring fit" bracket..

First I want to start by saying that my skimmer is going in a nanocube 28 gallon, and adjusting water level and what not is difficult. Having said that, after the first night, it had produced a very wet skimmate, but it was definitely green with particulate matter. I will keep adjusting the water level to produce a more dry skimmate.
Now about the company, I will always buy my skimmers from here on our from AquaeuroUSA. My first skimmer arrived making a gargling sound, and what sounded like water in the air hose, which I made sure to keep dry. After further inspection I found that the small plastic part that attaches to the base and the hose was broken, allowing water to get sucked in. I tried to fix it with super glue to avoid having to do an exchange, but it did not work. I contacted the manufacturer, and they did a return at their own cost of shipping (both ways), and did not question anything, they simply sent me a new one, which arrived in perfect condition.
My hat goes off to those who run their customer service department, I fully expected them to reject my exchange because I attempted to fix it myself.

I have the AquaticLife mini on another nano and it works well with the extended air line mod, but I bought this one since it got good reviews and was a bit smaller. Ran it for 3 weeks and then returned it. Cup would usually fill up in a few days, but only produced clear, wet skimmate no matter how I adjusted it. Also not manufactured as well as the AquaticLife (parts made of thinner plastic and fit somewhat loosely together). The AquaticLife is $10 more, but worked better for me.

After trying many skimmers for the JBJ 28g tank, this one is the winner. If you remove the elbow return it fits perfectly in the stock skimmer chamber without ANY modification to the stock configuration. The price is right, the performance is great, and it runs almost silent. While rated for slightly less than the volume of the tank, if you do routine water changes this unit is a perfect match to your tank.
If you were looking at other skimmers, here were my beefs .... the stock skimmer didn't pull enough (and the collection cup has to be removed to open the hood), the Sapphire skimmer did a good job, but the company folded and the unit took up the center chamber (and the collection cup has to be removed to open the hood). The Tunze 9002 did a KILLER job but completely took up the center chamber (and the collection cup has to be removed to open the hood). HOB models were loud and had to be seriously modified (although the AquaC Remora was by far the best)

Well I waited a month and a half before I made this review. I built a hang on refugium on my 20 long and built some space in it to house the skimmer. It took some adjusting to get it running right but once it was I was collecting waste that looks like green tea. Now my bio load is not that big. The only thing I have a problem with is that the collection cup is too small. When I check it in the morning the collection cup is completely full. All and all the skimmer does what it was made to do and does a great job for the price.

I bought this skimmer thinking it would have poor performance but figuring I could modify it and make it work well.I found myself not needing to modify it at all. It skims well, but there are a few draw backs.First draw back is like others have mentioned it is difficult to get adjusted just right. Another draw back is that the collection cup is small and will need emptied often. The biggest draw back though is that the skimmer mounts inside the tank.

it was a good buy it does all what you need it to do. the only thing that was a little tricky was trying to get the water level right without the collection cup filling up with water. but other than that it works great!!!

This skimmer is the only one that works on my 21 gallon TruVu hexagon tank. It doesn't spread any bubbles in my tank unlike the AquaticLife Mini Protein Skimmer which spreads micro bubbles all over the tank. Maybe if you have a sump which I don't have it would be okay as the sump dissipates the bubbles. I'm getting a good load of organic waste in the cup. Just need to make sure I keep emptying the cup after a few days as it is a small cup.
