4" Ring Diameter; 10-11" approx. length.

Filter socks are the most convenient form of mechanical filtration. They remove excess food, detritus, organic waste, dust, and other particulates. Removing these particulates from the water column will reduce the amount of organic matter that produces ammonia and other undesirable substances in the aquarium. Filter socks also help prevent larger objects, such as sand, crabs, snails, etc. from damaging pump motors. Regular filter sock use will lower organic levels and result in CRYSTAL CLEAR WATER!

*NOTE: Please rinse all filter socks prior to first use

Sock it

So far so good. The material feels good. It's in my sump now so we'll see how it does. Little doubt it'll be fine. I've tried a few so far with the Eshopps at the top of my list. The next test will be to see how it makes it through the washing machine but I think it'll be fine. The material seems to be very much like the Eshopps brand. The only difference I see is that the AquaMaxx has sewn seams where the Eshoppps has welded plastic. I don't know that I have a preference as long as it works. We shall see..... This is a 7" sock although the header above suggests that it's a 4". Not that there's probably any difference.

Durable

Well made and durable. I change my sock everyday so that the solid waste it traps don't have a chance to convert to nitrates. After several washes in hot water and bleach there isn't any sign of deterioration.

Excellent quality

These filters are awesome. Good quality through and through. Let me tell you about my experience with "off-brand" filters. I decided to save a little money and order my filters in bulk from Amazon. I bought a pack of 10 for about $50 bucks. Good deal right? Wrong. When I received the filters, about half of them had warped openings and the filter material was low grade at best. I tried to make one of them fit in my sump but broke the filter housing in the process. Aaarrrgh! A little epoxy saved the day but a crisis I could have averted. NEVER again!

As it should be

It's a filter sock, it does it's job, shrank when washed (still 200 micron?), seems to last a good amount of time.

Reusable

It's not only a convenient form of filtration device but an excellent sock that filter everything and can be re-use for one more time.
