AquaMaxx ConeS In-Sump Protein Skimmer

AquaMaxx ConeS Series In-Sump Protein Skimmers efficiently remove organic waste from aquarium water. The hybrid cone body, the advanced bubble chamber and the proprietary conical diffusers work synergistically to efficiently mix air and water. More importantly, random twirling and turbulent flow is eliminated. A stable laminar flow is created inside the skimmer`s reaction chamber and maximizes the performance and efficiency of the skimmer like no other design!

Achieve a stable laminar flow and maximize performance and efficiency!

In conjunction with the innovative bubble chamber, a powerful needle wheel pump generates optimally-sized air bubbles that force protein, waste and other materials through the hybrid cone body and into a collection cup for easy removal. The AquaMaxx ConeS Series is rated for aquariums 90-800 gallons yet are small enough to be concealed in a sump underneath your aquarium.

Computer-precision engineered and outfit with the latest filtration technology, AquaMaxx protein skimmers are engineered to deliver the performance and value you are looking for in a skimmer.

AquaMaxx ConeS Series Skimmers are built using a brilliantly polished cell-cast acrylic. They incorporate the high-end features hardcore hobbyists demand at a price everyone can afford. The ConeS Series is equipped with advanced bubble chambers, hybrid-cone bodies, air silencers and needle wheel impellers for maximum performance, efficiency and whisper quiet operation. They also have compact footprints to make installation as easy as possible.

AquaMaxx ConeS Skimmers feature high-quality Italian-made Sicce pumps. Each Sicce pump motor block is then modified and fitted with proprietary AquaMaxx needle wheel impellers. With the precise modifications and upgrades, performance is boosted much beyond that of a stock pump. The upgraded AquaMaxx ‘Shark’ pump is capable of drawing in significantly more air and chops them up to the optimum bubble size for protein extraction. These pump and protein skimmer combinations deliver unprecedented performance and reliability. Accumulated protein and organics will be vigorously removed from your tank so you can focus less on maintenance and more on enjoying your piece of the reef.

AquaMaxx Cone-Series Protein Skimmers are designed from the ground up with the hobbyist in mind. A built-in air intake silencer reduces noise for near-silent operation. The hybrid-cone design maximizes the size of the reaction chamber and to allow the skimmate to smoothly rise into the collection cup. The advanced Bubble Chamber decreases turbulence and produced a stable laminar flow: which improves bubble transition and boosts skimmer performance.

Bought the CO-1 to replace an oversized skimmer for my 75 gallons + 15 sump tank. Love that this skimmer is quiet. The handle on the collection cup makes it easy to remove. Make sure you use the zip tie on the drain line to prevent water from leaking out of the collection cup. There was no break in period. Skimmer started working day 1 and did not overflow like crazy. Have it in 9 inch of water.

Aquamaxx cone S Co1

This is a great skimmer it started to take out junk out of the water after a couple of hours it is so much better than the skimz 143 that I had changed out 3 Pumps and still didn't perform the aquamaxx co1 was a lot better than the skimz as soon as I plugged it in I am very happy now I know what a skimmer is supposed to do I would buy another one with out even thinking about it thanks for carrying such a quality product

Great skimmer!

The Cone-S CO-2 is a great, consistent skimmer. I hesitated to replace my EM200 with it as I really wanted an upgrade. The EM200 is a great skimmer for my 90 gallon plus 39 gallon sump display tank. However, after a month it is clear that the CO-2 is more consistent and pulls out even more gunk. The handle on the skimmer cup is great. I think it took no more than 24 hours to burn it in and it was at full efficiency by 7 days. All in all, this is a great, no need to adjust skimmer. As a Nopox user, I feel comfortable depending upon this skimmer.

Great Skimmer

Great skimmer. Very quiet and pulls out disgusting skimate. Break in was about 1 day before most all micro bubbles went away. 10/10

Aquamaxx ConeS CO-2

Using this skimmer for my heavy loaded 120 gal reef tank. CO-2 performs better than the bubble magus 7, I had used before. The design and the pump on the outside of the cylinder performs better skimming. The build quality is very nice and break in period did not take long (1 day). I recommend this skimmer, however any bigger tank I would go up to the CO-3.

Awesome Skimmer

Ever since updating my sump to a 55 gallon unit, I was experiencing problems with my existing skimmer AquaC EV-180 unit, it just wouldn't skim well It had always been tricky to adjust, and now seemed impossible. MD was having a skimmer sale and this unit had a lot of favorable reviews, so I decided to try it. It has now only been running for about 8 hours, but I am truly impressed. I washed it well in warm water (only) prior to installation, and immediately upon installation it was producing a huge amount of very fine bubbles. Within 2 hours it had settled down and I adjusted it to produce a nice, moderately dry skimmate, and within another 4 hours, it was already pulling dark skimmate from the water. It is very easy to adjust, and so far has impressive performance. I highly recommend it.

Awesome skimmer

I bought a co-2 in feb of 2014. It has been like 18 months now and it has performed flawlessly pumping out nasty black skimmate when I have it dialed in. I've been fighting dinos for the past year so you can imagine the nasty crap that has passed thru the skimmer. If it was feasible - I would pull it out of the sump and sleep with it every night. The first best was an early 90's hi-dollar custom setup built into a sump with ozone.

CO 1

After my skimmer arrived with broken legs from shipping, Marine Depot asked for photos and Shipped me a new base within a week. After a break from the hobby due to moving around I'm back at it. I went from a single 55 gal with a HOB cpr backpak skimmer; to using the former 55 gal as my sump and bought a new one for the display. The co-1 is a vast improvement as you can imagine and I am very happy with it. Over the last few weeks of my gulf live rock curing I've had to empty the cup every day. It pulls dark skimmate out every day. Now I'm cleaning every two days with the curing process wrapping up. I have it zip tied to a 4.5 inch tall clay pot bought new. The operating level is 9 inches with that. I am very happy with this skimmer and would highly recommend for total volume of up to 90 gallons. My system is about 77 gallons with the rock displacement.

Amazing Skimmer!!!

After 7 days in my sump, I had never seen so much skimmate coming out of my tank. If you have a small sump, this is the one, it has a small footprint but it works like a champ. definitely worth the money.
