The Advantage 2000 UV Sterilizer is the premium choice for the water sterilization for aquariums up to 50 gallons or hospital or quarantine tanks for ponds up to 200 gallons. For clarification, it will handle a pond up to 1500 gallons. When used as a sterilizer, it will control the amount of harmful bacteria in your aquarium/pond creating a healthier environment for your aquarium ecosystem. When using as a clarifier, it will clear ponds up to 1500 gallon size with 50% to 75 % plant coverage.

8W Advantage 2000 Max Flow: 1000 gph as clarifier, 642 GPH max is recommened for sterilizer.

Comments: I have heard a lot of good things about Aqua UV filters, so I decided to buy this one. The first one I bought was broken, so I exchanged it. There are a couple things to know about this unit before you purchase it. First, from the description, this UV looks like it has a 3/4" barb inlet and a 3/4" barb outlet. I am not sure why it says that because the unit I received had a 1/2" barb inlet and a HOB outlet that cannot be connected to a pipe or hose. This means that all the plumbing stuff I bought to get this UV working was wasted. I had to go to HD to find a 1/2" hose with a 1/2" fitting and that was all I needed. If I had known this, I would have saved $50. I checked the Aqua UV website about this and they said that this model comes with 1/2" or 3/4" barbs... why can't they just stick with one size? Other than that, I am hoping this thing will work.

Comments: The aqua 8w uv sterilizer is good quality and is very easy to hook up,and once i hooked it up it took only four days for my thirty gallon fish tank to clear up thank you.
