Bought a 48" blue to add 420 spectrum to 140 gal 30 inch tank. Main lights are white Cree 3 watt LEDs 8000-10000 spectrum. These set of 1/2 watt LEDs did whiten up color but not as much as I wanted although I realize 30" is a bit deep to go.. Probably needed 2 but not at this cost. As other reviewers stated, poor extension arms. Flimsy and already rusting after just 2 weeks. Will bite the bullet and accept as accent, transitional moon light. As long as you are content to use as moonlight or accent light only, you will be okay, otherwise, look for Other alternatives for main day time lighting.

sorry but it's not very bright for the price. I've bought similar fixtures for the same price or less, that were brighter and sturdier.

Despite the low wattage it still puts out a good amount of light. Perfect for night time actinic lighting. The arms that come out and hold it on the tank SUCK, i am planning to get some thick abs plastic or aluminum and replacing them with better mounts. They are so flimsy the light almost sits in the water and they just slide in and out very easily so im also afraid of it falling in. Other than the mounts i think these are great. I just ordered the 50/50 one for the same tank and a 48" blue for one of my reef tanks for accent. Great full color and nice shimmer effect. No T5 or PC looks anything like LED, it cant be touched.

While the design of the LED light strip is well done, the performance and power of the LED's is lacking. I have both a Blue 420 and combination 10K/420 and it makes a nice accent light but is not strong enough given the price.

I have a 55-60 gallon tank, 48 x 13 x 20 height. I ordered 3 lights and they are not powerful enough to keep everything alive. I have 5 fish and only a few small leather and button corals. The leather and button corals started to look "withered" so I put back my T-5's and they perked back up. I assume that unless I order another strip or 2 (original order was for 3 strips) I will not be able to use them. They did, however, give the water a nice shimmery effect.

I got the all blue LED fixture to add more light in the 460 wavelength area to the T5 fixture I already have. My ATI has 6 bulbs, T5s, do produce light in the 460 range, but I wanted more. The LED fixture fits nicely under the hood behind the ATI. It just came two days ago so growth results won't be noticeable for some time in this SPS tank. However, the colors of the corals seem to be more intense.

I like the lights themselves. I was advised over the phone that if I placed two 48 inch lights over my 200 gallon tank it wold be adequate for brightness, and shimmer effects. I was disapponted. The lights were better suited for my 90 gallon tank but, even there, it was marginal. I think that the lights would be great for a smaller, say, 60 gallon tank. But for this disappontment (perhaps the sales person on the phone had incorrect information) I think this is a great product.

I have a 180gl reef tank and the T5's just weren't producing the "pop" I was looking for. I opted for the Aquatics 48 inch with both available spectrum's. This nicely designed thin fixture is a great add on, and works well as a morning and dusk light (stays on through out the day)to run on a separate timer. By itself it doesn't quite get enough lights into the edges so I'm still looking to add some led spot lights to cover that. The only weakness is that you have to angle it precisely to optimize the effect so a more versatile hood might be helpful. ~ Art

This was recommended by the sales person over the phone, and it's great. The price includes the transformer. My tank is a custom shape and is 24" deep and the light reaches all the way to the bottom and has great color. I'm planning on getting two more. The only drawback is each light comes with its own transformer, which means a lot of plugs and transformers under the tank. On the plus side, each transformer can be on its own timer. It's very easy to simulate sunrise/sunset.

I believe these are a wonderful set of lights. I got the 36" mixed white and blue version to supplement the T5s I use on my 30Breeder. I chose these lights over some of the other similar ones, a lot because of the price and by the name. I have experience with AquaticLife and love their product. Some people talked about not getting these and instead getting the stunner strips because they are more modular, I have to give them that, stunners are smaller, but I believe these put of more light. These are also cheaper seeing as you don't have to buy the plug in adapter like you do for the stunner strips. Overall these are a very good set of lights and I plan to buy many more of them in the future to help supplement my 155gl when I get it setup.
