Aquaticlife PULSE LED

I'll be honest, I saw the other review for this light and was very skeptical. I called the customer service line and spoke with a very knowledgeable young man. Told him my expectations for a LED upgrade for my 4ft 135 gallon FOLR tank. He recommended the Kessil a360 & a light from a company I've never heard of along with this product. I decided on the aquaticlife because my t5 was an aquaticlife and it was a quality product and have had no regrets with that purchase. When I got it, I was amazed by the quality of its construction. It was built to last. The shimmering effect is beautiful as well as the color spectrum. The color options are fairly adjustable as well as the presets. It has thunderstorm functionality and looks alright. It does not compare to the thunderstorm mode of the EcoTech Raidon... nothing does. But it still looks pretty cool. If I had to do it all over again, I would still purchase this light. Don't be scared of the negative review, this is a quality product.

Good light/bad features

The fixture itself is well made and the led's are very bright, producing high PAR values. Customer service isn't always the most helpful but very nice. It is also hard to beat the limited lifetime warranty. However, there are many issues with this light. The biggest problem is the controller. It has a great "day" setting, which ramps light intensity up and down to simulate the sun rising and setting. Problem is, you cannot run lunar lights in that setting. To run the lunar lights you have to run the light in "auto" mode, which only gives you 2 program points. It would be nice if there were more program points so you could actually simulate sunrise/sunset.The other major issue is the 90 degree optics, especially the "pink", which will spotlight anything near the surface. I really wish AquaticLife would have been more specific about the light details, as they are very misleading.
