Filter sock for Berlin filtration system. Can be used with the BS-1 sump, BS-2 sump or the Berlin Hang-On Acrylic mounts. 100 micron.
Inner Diameter: 3-9/16"
Outer Diameter: 4-1/4"
*NOTE: Please rinse all filter socks prior to first use
Filter socks are the most convenient form of mechanical filtration. They remove excess food, detritus, organic waste, dust, and other particulates. Removing these particulates from the water column will reduce the amount of organic matter that produces ammonia and other undesirable substances in the aquarium. Filter socks also help prevent larger objects, such as sand, crabs, snails, etc. from damaging pump motors. Regular filter sock use will lower organic levels and result in CRYSTAL CLEAR WATER!

Good build quality. The seems are tight. This thing does a great job of trapping everything that comes down the overflow. This sock is pretty big, so keep that in mind if you have a smaller sump.

These filter socks are awesome, they catch so much junk out od the water. I wash them inside out in the washing machine with bleach and two old towels that I use strictly for tank stuff. After I was the socks I rinse them in ro/di water and a drop of dechlorinator. These things are awesome!

I believe that this little product is a must have since my algae problem has been rectified. Was going to try a sump/refugium but thought I would try this first and glad I did. You definitely have to keep an eye for the sock to being dirty to the point that the water flow is not filtering out but overflowing from the top. Have research the many ways to clean them and am going to try to steam clean or possible car wash spray and I did a hand job which wassn't too bad. have more than one on hand to interchange

good quality, nice transaction.
This sock provides the best quality one could ask for.
I use two of these in my 400 gal and they last about 4 to 5 days. Just throw them in the wash. Careful not to wash in your personal machine if sand/substrate was trapped - it will damage the seal/motor which is quite expensive to repair. I buy a months worth and then do a full load on soak each month - pretty cheap and effective for mechanical filtration.
Cheers!

This is a great place to buy. But you have to be careful what you buy. For example I got the filter sock 7 inch I thought that it was 7 inch long and it was 7 inch wide not long . So I got the wrong one ,so be careful what you buy but it still a great place to buy.

After several washings they are holding up very well. I bought 3 and switch them out 2x/week. My sump still gets some very fine material, but nothing like what it did. I am please with these, I think you will be too. turn em inside out and wash with bleach, then wash again with aqua plus (or other dechloinator - just not amquel which will stink up the house.) Just like new. I wish I had starting using filter socks 10 years ago.

Received the new 7" 100 micron filter socks and immediately noted that the media is actually manufactured by Purolator (yes, the high-end filter guys), a really good thing. The media is also very consistent, another good thing.
I have previously used the Euro-fil 7" 100 micron filter socks and after using this new (to me) Berlin sock I won't go back. The Berlin sock is 4" longer and almost 1/2" wider (below the 7" ring) which adds capacity which I really like. Anyone using the Euro-fil filter socks should look at the Berlin.
