Cynobacteria is usually encouraged with the presence of nitrate and ammonia, which are both fixed forms of nitrogen. Chemi-clean helps clean and remove this problem algae through its own unique process. Most other red slime removers use purely antibiotics, namely erythromycin to take care of the algae. The use of such substances with in your aquarium can have disastrous effects upon your nitrifying bacteria and cause your tank to crash, killing the inhabitants of your aquarium.
The use of chemi-clean not only as a problem solver, when red slime is present, but as a regular maintenance procedure will help keep your water crystal clear and your tank free of unwanted cynobacteria.
For best results, turn off UV sterilizer or Ozonizer and Protein Skimmer. Remove Chemi-Pure or Carbon Filtration for 24 hours following each treatment.
It is advisable to do at least a 20% water change after full treatment.
You must use an air stone when using Chemi-Clean. Place airstone in the aquarium prior to and during treatment.

My protein skimmer had not been working well the past couple of months and thus I was inundated with red slime algae. After two back to back treatments it was all gone. Put a new power head on the skimmer and all is well. Great product. I could not find Chemiclean locally so I tried another brand, and I think it killed off a hammer coral I had for 10 years. I only trust Chemiclean .

Not sure where it went, but 75% of my red slime was gone after 24 hours. My fish, corals and good algea seem to be doing fine. Did the 20% water change after 48 hours as directed. We'll have to see how things look in a week or two - but so far very impressive!

We're at the 24hr mark after adding chemiclean to my 55 gallon salt water tank.Almost all of the cyano is gone. Have been battling this for over a month with water changes and siphoning, to no avail. The fish are doing great and I am so happy to have this finally behind me. Give it a try, definitely worth the money!

As always, I am carful about putting chemicals in the tank. The reviews of this product, by a lot of people, were very good. So, I gave it a try. I used only 75% of the recommended amount in my 125 gallon tank. Most of the Cyano was gone after 24 hours. All was gone within 72 hours. As directed, I replaced 20% of the water after 48 hours. A great product that works as advertised.
