Replacement Pump for all CPR Bak-Pak Models
CPR is pleased to announce an exciting new enhancement to our popular Bak-Pak protein skimmer line.
The new Accela pump is similar to the Maxi-jet 1200, however, it includes some important added benefits. The pump has been modified to include a venturi intake which efficiently draws in more air with less restriction on the pump. This results in more effective protein skimming with a significantly increased "sweet spot" for skimmer operation. Designed for use with the CPR Bak-Pak, Bak-Pak 2R+, Bak-Pak Dual-Pak (2 pumps required) and SR3.

In Arcata, located in Northern California, the sea is a way of life. From the advanced Marine Biology department at Humboldt State University, just up the hill from CPR’s headquarters, to Humboldt Bay, about a mile west, CPR is nestled in a perfect environment to develop equipment for marine aquariums. CPR was started in a small garage in 1987 to produce biological filters for local aquarists. People who used CPR filters were impressed by the high quality and affordable prices. I replaced the original Rio pump with this one. I went with this to try and eliminate clogging\having to change the recirc tube on the Rio. It works great but is way noisier than the original ever was. It is by far the noisiest piece of equipment on the tank.

This pump was a great price but most importantly it worked on different brand protein skimmer just exactly as I hoped it would. The best part of this pump, not only is it powerful but it is totally quiet. We will definitely purchase again.

The new accela pump is nice ,powerfull ,and pulls alot of gunk out my tank the venturi mod is nice you just gota find that happy medium so that you skimm perfect.the only thing I don't like is that alot of micro bubbles get pushed out to the tank but other then that my skimmer works fine

This Accela replacement pump for the CPR Bak Pak skimmer was the most effective I have tried, with great bubble production and flow. However, it was so loud that it was unusable in any general living area. The venturi noise level, even with the air intake tube in a dampener inside my aquarium stand, was 3x-4x that of the older Rio 800 RVT I was trying to replace.

Very quiet and powerful. However, I couldnt get rid of the Microbubbles that flowed from the outlet tube, so much so, that the tank looked fogged/cloudy. I couldnt see the fish or rock. I tried a sponge, a filter sock, finally ordered the BakPak Bubble trap, it helped, but didnt get rid of the problem. Now Im stuck with a useless pump. The MaxiJet 1200 is far superior, good flow rate, no microbubble issues at all.
