CPR

CPR`s AquaFuge2 hang-on refugiums come in three different sizes to meet the needs of marine aquarists.

Recently redesigned with a black acrylic backing to prevent light from transfering to the main aquarium, each model comes with a powerhead and features a unique baffle system. This prevents the substrate and organisms from being disturbed yet also allows enough water to flow through the eliminate any stagnant areas.

The AquaFuge2 provides ideal growth conditions for food items, such as copepods and ampipods, to feed invertebrates and fish in the main tank.

It provides a controlled growing area for macroalgae, which can be used to reduce "nuisance" algae in the main tank and provided a "nursery" area for a variety of organisms.

In 2011, a new outlet tray was added to improve the water return system.

**Please Note: The AquaFuge 2 does not come with a light fixture, although lighting is needed to meet the needs of your refugium inhabitants. Click here for CPR Lighting Options.

CPR was started in a small garage in 1987 to produce biological filters for local aquarists. People who used CPR filters were impressed by the high quality and affordable prices. Word spread and the company grew. Since then, CPR has expanded to a 10,000 sq. ft. production facility and has developed many innovative products over the years. Q
Dimensions of hang on back portion
I'm not sure if the depth of the unit listed is the overall with inlet and outlet, but I'm trying to see how much space behind the tank is needed. Thanks.

The dimension listed is the "box" portion that does not include the inlet/outlet. Space required behind the aquarium is 4.5".

“Excellent for smaller tanks”
5.0

This is a great product, though that should come as no surprise. CPR makes quality stuff. I have this hanging on the back of a 25g cube. It holds some Chaeto and a Tunze skimmer no problem. I also had a heater in there before purchasing a titanium heater which I placed in the display tank as I've...Read More

“CPR makes great products”
5.0

Great product. The small size was enough for me to get my copepod population growing. I added live rock, chaeto, sand in my refugium.

“EXCELLENT”
5.0

Used in combination with the CPR cyclone wet/dry complete package, you don't have to worry about the sump overflowing if the electric goes out. The water doesn't fill the sump after the tanks drain! The added light with acrylic stand really makes the refugium glow like the moon. I use aragonite ...Read More

“Quick and easy HOB”
5.0

This is my second HOB refugium. My first was a Reef Octopus model that was similar. It had a pipe on the outflow and was entirely clear plastic. The result was constant overflowing of the refugium, a horrible sucking/slurping sound, and light bleed through to the main display. The supply pipin...Read More

“Best hang on back Refugium”
5.0

Ok I don't usually give reviews but I had to for this one. First of all the quality on the HOB refugium is top notch, the set up was a breeze. It took me 5 minutes and I am a beginner in this hobby. I did extensive research about refugium and came to a decision to buy this one thanks in part to NewY...Read More
