Yes, save your money and buy it. Why go for something else if this is the only one. After many tries with other over flow boxes I was told about the CS90 for my 65 gal salt water reef tank and what a difference it makes. It is super quiet and no micro bubbles at all. I did not have to play with it to make it work; it was only plug and play I bought this together with the tom Aquatics Aqua lifter Dosage Pump and I’m using a mag 9.5 pump in my wet dry and is doing the job. I wait few month since my purchased to review the CS90 just to be sure that it will not give me any problems but it's working super since the first day. Go for it...!

This overflow box is great. Very quiet ( not like the DIY one I was using before ). The construction seems to be very solid. Easy to install and maintain. My only con is that air accumulates in the overflow chamber. Unless you have an air pump attached you must remove the air yourself. I have to remove the air about once every 3 weeks or so. Not a big deal but if you don't the flow rate is reduced. All in all it's a great option for a tank with no hole drilled in the back.

CPR Problems

Comments:
The design of these boxes does not allow for easy cleaning so after time your box will be full of debris that is not easy to get out. The second problem is the suction valve that removes air will eventually get a tiny peice of algae or other debris and will slowly stop functioning. Using this CPR overflow my tank did literally what they state. It overflowed 2 times and caused thousands of dollars in damage. I recently upgraded to a built in overflow. DO NOT BUY A CPR OVERFLOW BOX!!!!!!
I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Great little overflow

CPR has made a pretty sturdy overflow. I love the black back pannel for it keeps nasty algae from growing within the channel, and the syphon nipple works wonderfully when attached to an Aqua-Lifter. There have only been two issues that I have had with it thus far. First, the little riser screws that are attached to the sides for adjusting its height snapped off early in its use. They were a good idea, but the overflow sits just as well on the lip of the tank without them. Second, I know that this will be a never-ending battle with any overflow, but it can get a bit noisy. Adjusting the drain air-intake is easy, but if it's not at the right level you will get a decent high-pitched gurgle. Great overflow none-the-less.

I use this overflow with a Tom Aquatics Aqua lifter dosing pump and love it. I never have to worry about my suction being lost due to bubble build up or any of that crap any more. This overflow does a good job keeping algae under control and is quiet. I would surely recommend this to anyone needing a overflow box on their tank.

A great product. The only issue I have had is that the intake side of the overflow has no overflow teeth. This meant that all of the water was having to flow over the flat edge of the box and thus raised the water level in my aquarium nearly an inch. I solved this by using the dremel and a template pattern to carve out some teeth. Now it works perfectly. I am using the aqualifter siphon to feed my calcium reactor and can say that I'm very please with the overall product. Not to mention I can actually sleep at night knowing that a pair of U-tubes aren't going to lose suction for no apparent reason.

Its a great product, but like any overflow system built in or not, you have to make sure it doesn't clog, and that you supplement the pump with an overflow switch. The switch is critical to prevent any flooding of your house. It has a little floater that will cut off the pump if the level gets too high in the main tank. Also make sure you keep your sump only partially full, as you need to make sure it wont fill the sump to overflow if the power/pump goes out.

Must-Read Advice!!!

Comments:
This overflow box does what it's designed to do, but the addition of the aqua-lifter pump to maintain the siphon is critical. However, the nipple connection for the air removal pump is over on the left. Not all the air ends up on the left!! You must set the left foot screw higher than the right one so that you get a right to left upwards slope. This will make the air bubbles collect on the left for easy removal with the aqua-lifter. For weeks, I couldn't figure out why the flow rate over the overflow was so low and it was because there was a large air pocket on the right side that wasn't being cleared. If you're experiencing a similar problem with this things, that's probably the problem.

If you're looking to get water to a sump, my best advice is get a tank thats drilled and tapped to begin with! For people like me (who didn't), this is the next best thing. Putting an aqua lifter on it pretty much guarantees the siphon will stay operational. One issue is that you can't disassemble and clean the inside - and stuff will start to grow in there. My advice is pick the flow you want, and then go one size bigger to account for that.

Works great, just very, very hard to find the hardware to hook the drain up at Home Depot or Lowes. After receiving the box the instruction recommend adapter to hook drain up, but petsstore.com made no mention of this adapter when I was purchsing overflow. Make sure you buy adapter when purchasing this product. Also buy the Aqua lifter pump mentioned it will make this a worry free setup. This product was mentioned on petstore.com, however I could not find it on their website and had to purchase it form another it only cost $18 with shipping and it all works great.

A much better solution than my old u-tube overflow. No air bubbles or lose of flow. Quiet. My only issue is that they use a odd thread on the connector. None of the 2 big home improvement stores or any of the mom and pops have anything that works. Had to replace it with standard pvc and glue in place, if they would change that it would be a 5 star rating

I like this overflow, doesn't make a sound. My only gripe is that i ordered from overseas and when it arrived I find out about this overflow requiring a tom's aqualifter pump incase the siphon breaks. So i then go to the trouble of buying a few aqualifters (they were cheap so got an extra one for backup). Once getting the aqualifter i come to find out the aqualifter should be hooked to a Tom's filter box to ensure it does not get clogged.. soooo... i had to order this little filter as well. After FINALLY getting everything running it has been great. I have simulated power outages and sure enough the aqualifter recreates the siphon perfectly. One note of caustion ensure you tighten the bottom section securely, i had a slight drip that i did not know about. It is a bit nerve racking tightening this bolt as i thought it was already very tight, I was scared i would break the acrylic or the threads. Seems to be fine now and I'm about to order my 2nd one to keep as a backup.

I read quite a few reviews on overflow boxes and picked this one with high hopes. Its a good product but I did have some major issues with it. Once I got all the kinks ironed out it did work. PROS Takes very little room inside the aquarium, unlike the converntional overflow boxes with U-Tubes. It has a large overflow box outside the aquarium and has very simple adjustments for adjusting the water level of the aquarium. It has a screen to prevent anything entering the overflow box (like snails or small fish). So it does have some good features. CONS Ok. Now the downside. When I first setup the unit the water level in the overflow box would go from the minimum to the maximum level and suck air into the sump (min level) or cause the syphon to quit (high level). So it made it very difficult to setup. I fought with this setup for some time and figured it out. The pre-filter strainer was causing the water to flow down the pipe like a cyclone and would cause the overflow to suck air. Once I removed the strainer the unit worked as you would expect. I used a short PVC pipe (instead of the strainer) and replaced the pre-filter. Everything is running fine now and the overflow box works with a constant water level. The second I put the original strainer back in place the problem started up again. This may just be my setup but it was very frustrating. Another thing thats worth noting is that this overflow is fairly loud, even when adjusted correctly. If you are going to get this unit also make sure to get an Aqua-lifter to make sure you have a constant syphon. MY THOUGHTS Overall the box does work and its better quality than other overflow boxes. Its 100% better than using U-tubes. If you buy this make sure to get an aqualifer pump.

Great
Works well, but loud
by
Ian
Comments:
The overflow box does what you ask of it, and with the aqualifter pump, it won't lose the siphon. It is rather loud however. Suitable modifications can quiet it to a tolerable level.

by

Comments:
much much better than u tube because it will less likely to fail if you use aqua lifter w/ filter. very quiet. I would recommend if you dont have drilled overflow.

Hook the siphon tube to a powerhead nearby in your tank and you'll constantly siphon all the bubbles out of the overflow box. Works great!!

Unsatisfactory
youll be sorry
by
Michele
Comments:
Dont trust it! Must be ran with power head. It will break suction and flood your home in one of three ways.1.screen causes air bubbles to be traped 2.tube will grow alge.3. matter will plug nipple.
I would not recommend this product to my friends.

I used mine for less than three months before the air tubing clogged and the siphon was lost. This resulted in flooded bedroom.

Aqua Pump a must
by
TRAMMEL STEVENS
Comments:
First overflow box, can't see this working without the aqua pump. It should be required. Vent tube on top attracts floating pellets and blocks pump. You must alter your floating food feeding method.

It works well so save your money and buy this one. However do not buy a RIO High flow 17 it will quit on you in 3 months. Look into a Danner Mag drive. They have good reviews.
