CaribSea’s Arag-Alive!™

Only CaribSea’s Arag-Alive!™ Live Sands contains not just the broad spectrum of marine bacteria found in the ocean, but additional specially selected strains of marine bacteria as well. Arag-Alive!™ compresses new tank cycle time and suppresses the initial ammonia spike. Arag-Alive!™ creates a natural biological balance, and makes cycling a new aquarium faster and safer. Live rocks and most invertebrates can be added immediately. Gradually introduce fish within the first 3 weeks, and do not exceed one inch of fish per 5 gallons during this time.

Indo-Pacific Black - Grain Size 0.2 - 2.0 mm. Re-create an authentic Indo-Pacific fringing reef environment such as Indonesia, Hawaii, and the Pacific Rim. Dramatic natural dark substrate highlights the colors of the regions indigenous aquatic life. Spectacular!

“Its Sand.”
5.0

Needed a new look for my tank.. I was getting tired of the plain white color.. This spices things up a bit! Its sand... how can you give it lower stars?

“Overall good”
4.0

I really like this sand. And am using it for a five gallon mantis tank. My only issues were that it had brown bits in it too. There's also the issue that the black sand prefers to be on the top...but a simple fix is just to stir it. The magnet thing worried me for awhile until I decided I cou...Read More

“Black Live Sand”

I was expecting it to be more black to give my tank a different look than most, but Other than that I'm happy with everything else!

“Indo-Pacific”
5.0

This is what the sand looks like in many Indo-Pacific regions I think this sand is spot on and have had no problems with it with my (LOW end) magnet cleaner. If you want a black look with the buffer capabilities of white sand buy it as this product works for me.

“Never Again”
1.0

I would never purchase the indo-pacific black sand again. I have a high quality magnet cleaner for the glass and there are iron chunks in this "sand". The ferrous material sticks to the magnetic cleaner and one must be extremely careful or you'll scratch your tank. Awful garbage that I wou...Read More

“Bio-filter complete”
5.0

After all of the negative things said about this particular product I would have to totally disagree. The color blend is good, and the sand grain size is excellent. This is especially true if you are trying to create an Indo-Pacific biotope where the sand isn't fine, but mixed with lots of rubble ro...Read More

“FAIL!”
1.0

This is by far the worst "sand" I have ever come across. The white portion is sand alright but the black pieces are larger chunks of black rock VERY similar to the black gravel one might get for a freshwater tank (not quite lava rock). Some of the black pieces are up to 2" in size. FA...Read More
