CaribSea

1.0–2.0 mm diameter grain size. A revolution in reef-keeping! This is the one you’ve been reading about in all the hobbyist publications. This grade of aragonite is specifically engineered for plenum-type nitrate reducing beds or anywhere a deeper bed is called for. The pore water space created by precision grading also allows maximum pH support and dissolution of calcium carbonate.

CaribSea Aragonite buffers to the highest pH and delivers more calcium, carbonate, and trace elements than any other substrate. Little or no rinsing required, aragonite keeps aquariums healthier, longer.

“Carib Sea Argonite Sand”
4.0

I have only had this sand for a week now. I am an experienced reefer that needed to replace my sand. Initial preparation was very labor intensive as I think I rinsed the sand in excess of 20 times and the effluent water still never runs clear. My street curb gutters are colored white for quite a whi...Read More

“Good sand”
5.0

My favorite heavy grade sand. I like that it does not easily get blown around by my powerheads. Feels very much like sand on the beaches of Cancun, Mexico if you have ever vacationed there. A 40lb bag gave me a 3" sand bed in my JBJ28 nano tank. Good product. As always, thank you MarineDep...Read More

Sand is very dirty. The grain size and realization of a real reef is great. The picture shows a whiter sand than it really is. It is a light beigh in color and I was wanting kinda just like the picture and that is why I gave it a 4 instead of 5 rating. Delivery was fast. I will buy from here a...Read More

Really good stuff....Rinse it well (until it looks cloudy instead of milky) about 5 pounds at a time in a 5gal bucket & it will clear up in just a few hours time. Really beneficial to your reef tank. *****FIVE STARS ***...Read More

“Great Reef Sand”
4.0

This sand is the perfect size and color in my opinion. It is not so big that it traps detrius, but not so small that your power heads blow it around. I don't care what anyone says RINSE THIS SAND before you add it to a tank or you will be sorry. My skimmer is still pulling silt out of it when I stir...Read More

“Quality Fine Grain Aragonite”
5.0

Exactly as described. Perfect size grains for deep sand bed. It may be a little too fine for the main display if you have a lot of water movement. I am using it in a refugium. In my opion I would not pay extra for the "live sand" in a bag that is being sold. That stuff is another pass...Read More
