CaribSea

Top quality Phillipine base rock, clean and nicely sized from baseball to softball size

South Seas Lace Rock is a great new aquascaping rock that we are excited to be offering. South Seas had much more structure than any other commonly available aquascaping rock and is much more porous than other as well. South Seas is a calcium carbonate base rock that is very similar to actual reef rock and at one point actually was, although it is obtained terrestrially from ancient coral reefs underground. South Seas will make the perfect alternative to live rock or can provide a very attractive base for live rock.

Please Note: Each box will contain a variety of rocks of different sizes and shapes. We are unable to take any special requests for rocks of a particular dimension or size. Because of the fragile nature of this rock, it is possible for the rock to break during shipment. We do our best to package the rock sufficiently to minimize damages. As UPS does not consider this item insurable, we are unable to replace or refund damaged pieces. It is possible to attach multiple pieces together using aquarium epoxy in order to make large shelves or repair damaged rock.

Q
Does your dry rock need to be cycled?
Can I put the dry rock right into my tank?
Asked : Feb 01, 2017

A
The dry rock can be placed into your tank if it is a new tank that you wish to cycle. The rock will typically house dead organisms that can help with the cycling process. You can also add a bacterial supplement during the cycle to help establish a good denitrifying bacteria population. If you have an established tank already, please soak the rock in RO water for about a week, you can use a power head to push flow through the rocks. Then dry it out in the sun prior to placing into your tank. A bacterial supplement can also be used.

This was some of the nicest aquascaping rock I have used. Mostly large pieces (very little breakage) which is what I was hoping for with many unusual shapes.

I have to admit, looking the way the box arrived after the gentle hands of UPS, I thought I'd find gravel rather than rock, but thanks to the shipping experts at Marine Depot, the interior box was fine. I didn't use this as base rock, I used it for display rock. Nice large and medium pieces, one o...Read More

“Love it!”
5.0

Bought these rocks for our new 60 gallon saltwater aquarium. Got 7 pieces. 4 of them are big, 1 medium and 2 smaller pieces. Perfect for stacking, too. I was able to configure them in the tank so that there are tunnels for the fish to swim through. Very pleased with this purchase. Highly recommend!!
