Looks Great

Comments: Just got 3 bags of this mix and put it in my tank and it looks great. I like the salt and pepper look of the substrate. You get the feel of light sandy beaches but also the black mix to help bring out the colors of your fish and hide some of the debris that shows so easily on the bottom with light sand aquariums. I don't know if this is the right or wrong way to do it but I did not rinse the sand before putting it in the tank. I also put the sand in first and then VERY slowly added the water afterward by pouring it on the rocks and letting it trickle down. The affect was a crystal clear tank in less than an hour, NO sand storm. I have my two little dianos in there as I begin the cycle process and they are just fine so who knows. Anyway great product.

Comments: Looks great in the tank though i am still waiting for the water to clear, needed to add fine media to my filter to get the water from murky to clear. Make sure you rinse welllllllllllll before you put in the tank.

Good Stuff

Comments: I was a bit skeptical, but now that the gravel has been in the tank for a week I am starting to understand! The pH is steady at 8.0 and my tank is cycled. **WARNING** DUSTY! I didn't rinse the gravel prior to placing it in the tank. Poor choice. It was cloudy for DAYS and I run about 150% filtration for the size of my tank. I have vacuumed the gravel and have polished the water and the tank is finally crystal clear. ALSO... it does NOT look like the product pictured. Lots of crushed shell. Doesn't look bad though.
