I replaced a 96 watt power compact lighting system.
My corals look better than ever!! I love the rippling effect that the MH gives.
The moon light has a very dramatic effect. That is when everyone tends to gravitate to the tank.
I originally went with power compacts because I did not want to have to get a chiller to
keep water cool. I have only notice a 2 degree change in my water temp.
If you are on the fence between PC and MH because of water temp like I was. Make the plunge and get the MH it's worth the couple of degree temp increase. Your corals will thank you for it.

Yep, it worked right out of the box! After a little checking, the balasts that were supplied were the less efficient ones. The Metal Halide lights are 150W each. The balast eats up 50W additional (x3 balasts). They get HOT. The fan is a little loud for a livingroom. I intend to modify the cooling to be quieter. I like the mechanical arrangement. I do not like the bulb life of these light in general (6 mo. recommended). I like the light, but I could improve it. Make your own judgement.

Replaced the stock 10k Metal Halides with 20k South Pacifics. HUGE difference. Fans are silent, lighting is spectacular, corals and fish love these lights and my reef tank now has a more natural look and feel to it. The shimmering light from the Metal Halides are gorgous. DEFINitely get the hanging kit for this product, was well worth the cost and allows me to clean and do water changes without having to adjust or move lights. I am very pleased with this lighting system.

Works have had it running for over 5months no problems. Ballasts are quiet, barely here them. Did get a little too hot in summer but added a couple little fans from wali and it kept temp in the green with no chiller. Would recommend

This is one of my favorite parts of my aquarium gear. I replaced the stock 10,000Ks with 20,000Ks and made a huge difference(10ks are no good). I had to put the legs different from instruction's recommendations and it still hold in place.

The light itself is very similar to the Aqualight Elite, which is also excellent, however the ballasts shiped with both units are ABSOLUTE Junk, they are chinese made, and i had both fail in less than 4 months (even on a battery backup to prevent surges). Coralife was great about shipping new ones, even overnighting me one when i asked (and i didnt even have to pay for the shipping). I had another marine company modifiy two Sunlight Supply ballasts to work with this light now and it's great. Very bright, well built.
