Coralife fixtures only fit coralife bulbs. I have a 30" fixture and all the bulbs, the good brands like ATI won't fit because all other bulbs come in sizes that are different than those that fit coralife. You can't get a 30" plus purple bulb, or even one with 14k instead of 10k. The bulb sizes other brands use that are close are 24" and 36". Coralife only has four bulb choices at 30" one of which is freshwater only. Other brands offer far more options. I have yet to find 30" bulbs from anywhere else. As for the coralife bulbs themselves- they're horrible. Things that looked fantastic under other lighting look grey under these bulbs. My corals barely grow, and it's not due to my parameters.

I have been very disappointed in this product. I just had my 2nd fixture burn out the starter. Put in new bulbs, didn't help. Got this on 2/3/12 and it only lasted until 10/24/12. My first T5 lasted only 1 year and 1 month. Will not be buying this product again.

I just got this Light to replace my 2 bulb coralife marine light. It really brightened up my tank. The plants and corals seem happy, the pajama cardinals love the low light options. I love the led moon light effect and the fan is quiet. only improvements I would like to see is lower price, less heat generated and lighter weight. All in all, I am very happy with this light.

Replaced two older single bulb fixtures with the dual T5's, significantly brighter, and much better looking. Fixture is well constructed; housing and electrically. My only suggestion or complaint is that you can not individually control the lights; they are either both on, or both off.

Just set up a 30 gal saltwater after 15 years without one. I really like all the new items available. The coralife t5 light seems to be doing really well. Algae is starting to grow on my live rock and my anemone looks more extended also. Still too soon for more details, but I like it so far.

The light fixture T5 is fine for the salt water fish tank I have. If I get Coral to grow I need to get more intense lighting. The fixture I have is light which I like a lot because at 72 the strength is not always present. The fixture is for a covered tank as the manufacturer suggests. On a large tank is is a problem to find a cover.

I like the product.....it's attractive and provides excellent light......it's a bit early for me to tell how well the plants will respond but I am expecting favorable growth....the only suggestion I would like to offer is my need is for freshwater plants and the light only comes with bulbs favoring marine aquariums so I had to immediately replace one of the bulbs with a different $ 20 bulb ..I wish the light came with various bulb options or no bulbs at a reduced price so I would not have this additional expence......Thank you...Paul

Comments:
I bought this unit over 9 months ago and have had multiple corals housed in the aquarium. The light is too weak to support any coral that requires moderate to high amounts of life. However, I have successfully seen my Torch coral reproduce under this light and my Ricordia coral absolutely love this light and have grown to their max. Both the Torch and Ricordea are placed on the sandbed of my 30 gallon tank and have done fantastic. Also, I've seen many organisms such as the pseudocorynactis anemone flourish under this lighting (hitch hiked on live rock). This has definitley provided a much different aquatic environment than if I used higher light that would inhibit low level light species like the white tip anemone. It is possible to keep some corals that require moderate light under this unit but you must feed to compensate it appears. The Torch has reproduced the most but I do supplement with feeding. Overall good choice for beginner, FOWLR, or low level light corals!
