Description

The unique design of the Deep Six Hydrometer allows hobbyists to take water samples at six inches in depth without submerging their hands in the water, thus avoiding the possibility of contamination. Samples taken at six inches in depth have been proven to result in a more accurate salinity reading than surface samples. Every unit is calibrated, tested and certified for accuracy. I have watched people dip it top-first into the water- which is cool too, but not as accurate a reading and not the point of it. First if you do it top first, you get a bunch of bubbles on the pointer... BAD NEWS. Either way you do it, make sure you tap, tap, tap, the hydrometer on a table or your head or something else hard to displace the micro-bubbles on the pointer. You may think they don't matter, but they really, really can change the reading. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.
