Comments: I bought the 220 gal model from someone that flooded there floor with it very touchy machine. I recommend marking the dial nod with a sharpy to help fine tune it. Everything could be fine then you wake up with water on your floor and your power stip fried. I run a tube now off the collection cup to a big fancy vase. If you are lucky enough to get it set right mark the spot with a sharpie are never touch it again. When you clean the collection cup unplug it dont turn the dial down. If you can afford it a cpr backpack or aquac is much much beter. Dont go cheap or you'll be sorry. I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: The bottom line on this skimmer is that it is horrible. When you can get it to work right it pulls an average amount of gunk out of the tank but you will spend all of your time constantly adjusting this skimmer just for it to perform average. Water level and even water temperature and room temperature will effect the performance of this skimmer. If any one of the three things listed above change even slightly it will either overflow the skimmer or the skimmer will just stop working. Purchasing this skimmer has been my one single greatest mistake I made in the start up of my tank. I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: Relatively easy to set up and works very well. The break in period was less than a day. In the first week, it produced almost a gallon of gunk from my tank that has a very low bio-load. It was a little tricky getting it dialed in, but now that it is, it works great! Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: The Coralife Super Skimmer is very nice and creates a large amount of microbubbles.....great for skimming! No break in time necessary for mine. It started skimming right away. My only complaint is that it's a little difficult to adjust(heighwise) if you have a fairly shallow sump and you are trying to hang it on the outside. I didn't have enough room in my sump to install it inside the sump, so I hung it on the outside. It took a little tinkering to adjust it where it would stop putting a shear fog of bubbles into your main tank. I would recommend it though. Works great. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I have a 220 that I picked up used. Well new...because the purchaser failed to read directions!The needle wheel pump needs to be 3 to 4" max to the top of the pump...any more= no bubbles! He had 12" of hose on it! Go figure! Shortened it and it works flawlessly! The adjustment is precise but pulls about a half cup a day of dark nasty skimmate from my gin clear water! Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: Guess I should have spent more. This skimmer just does not seem to get that much stuff out. I have it set in my first stage of my sump and I have since had to modify it to one make it easier to adjust to the bubble level I want and two get the micro bubbles under control. The little foam filled overflow cup just wasn't doing it for me so I used a compression coupler and pipe to make an adjustable slide outlet pipe that lets me perfectly set my height in the skimmer. I then put some foam around the outlet pipe so the water coming out flows back down to the sump through the foam. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: This is my first skimmer, and for the first few months of owning it I was ready to throw it out the window several times. The water height adjustment dial seems to do nothing for the first 3/4 of a turn, then when you get into the zone where it actually matters, the adjustment line between no skimming and overflowing is like 1/64th of a turn. I got it running fairly well by putting it in my sump in a chamber that maintains constant water height, not turning the knob when I clean it, just unplugging it, and also putting it's collection container in the sump also. If it does overflow then worse case scenario is it dumps some dilluted skimmate back into the tank, rather than emptying my system onto the floor (pick your poison). It has pulled some amazing gunk out of my system, but if I ever have some cash burning a hole in my pocket then it's probably going to get replaced. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: This skimmer is terrible. I am going to throw mine away. It was always filling the tank with micro-bubbles and constantly needed adjusting. I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: Ok...this thing was a pain to set up and I know what I am doing. I is on at 54G tank and struggles to pull a cup a week. Ideally, a skimmer should pull out a cup a day (or at least every other day). Yes, I set it up by the instructions and then made many modifications...I finally gave up. The micro-bubble diffuser is pure junk. I have spent countless hours trying mesh filter bags over the outlet...no good. This skimmer may be ok for a very small tank...but is worthless on a larger one. I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: Works alright but micro bubbles escape the diffuser box which does nothing to stop them, the pump and the box look horrible in the aquarium. Very sensitive to everything and it is very hard to adjust the settings to get everything perfect.Do not buy this, too much of a pain, just go with the aquac remora, so much better and so much easier. I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I purchased this for my 125 gallon. This wet skims whenever it feels like it and has dumped the tank water on the floor several times. Time to get a new skimmer. Do not waste your money. I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: This skimmer is JUNK. I had mine with an auto top off never got it to skim, either it was to wet or not at all. It skimmed half my tank onto the floor, promptly put on an auction site and sold. You get what you pay for, save your money. I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: The skimmer works great, however, Coralife customer service is not good. My pump went out and was told to call them. I have called them called them. The 3 techs that I was referred to never returns calls. I leave voice mails repeatedly. I am going with another brand. Other than that this skimmers was excellent until you need another needle wheel pump. I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: This was a total piece of junk. It started ok after the initial break in but then it just stopped skimming for no reason. There was plenty of bubbles but no skimate. I had to buy a new skimmer which is doing very well. I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I just have to say this product works great. After being in the reef hobby since 1995, this protien skimmer works great and for the money you can't go wrong. I have tired cheaper skimmers, that your always messing with, to get to work, this unit,if you read the instruction works as its designed and my corals love it too. Comments: I had this in a sump, it didnt work. I now have it in my tank, and it still rarely works. Either it skims way too dry, or it overflows. Its a very cheaply built piece, and fortunately the price is cheap as well. you get what you pay for, and I would recommend moving up in the world of skimmers the first time, rather than upgrading! I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I purchased this skimmer to replace the Aqua C Remora. This skimmer is much more efficient than the Remora but is more sensitive to water level changes. The bottom line if you want something that does an ok job but requires no adjustments get the Remora. If you want a more efficient skimmer that pulls more organic componds out of your water get something with a needle wheel. This skimmer is probably good to about 40 gallons. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I have been using this skimmer for almost two years. It is installed in a sump. I have had mine overflow once. I had the adjustment set wrong, once I fixed that, no more overflow. This skimmer has some flaws, one no drain on the collection cup, two touchy water level adjustment. I empty the collection cup weekly, when I do a water change. The only real problem that I have with this skimmer is that the air inlet gets calcium build up in two to three weeks and has to be reamed out. Other than that, this is a great skimmer! I would recommend it. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I have had this skimmer hob set up for several weeks now on a 30gal reef. I amazed at the amount of smelly dark skimmate that this thing is removing from my aquarium. While it was difficult to assemble, it took only 24 hrs to break-in. I was a little disappointed with the alignment of the inlet and outlet tubes. I have not seen the overflow issue or the difficulty in adjusting the skimmer that other reviewers are describing. I would definitely buy this again. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: Once this skimmer is broken in, it performs flawlessly. You need to keep your water level constant and adjust the skimmer accordingly. It works great if you have an automatic water level float that tops off automatically. Would recommend removing every month and immersing it in a bucket of fresh water and let it run for a few minutes to clean the holes on the pinwheel that create the microbubbles. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I've read some negative comments on this skimmer. I haven't had much of a problem with it. I'm currently running this on a 47gallon TALL tank HOB. It pulls dark stinky junk outta the tank. yes, it does create a degree of micro bubbles in the tank; usually only when i do a water change though. So it isn't much of a problem. For the price, i think it is well worth it; especially when you're new to the hobby and dont wanna pay $400+ for a protein skimmer. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: Hi i owned this skimmer for two months and didnt do much for my tank and sps corals the pump lacks power for the 6" body and yes i read the directions very well i've been at this hobby for 18+ years you get what you payed for coralife makes some great products but this one is not one of them i'll stick with my deltec skimmer. I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I was have time diffecult time keeping the pH stable in my 24 gal Aquapod and decided to try a skimmer. I did a hang on tank install which would have been simple if I didn't have a UV unit, power head for the nano-chiller and pump for the filter already in the sump. This unit is EXTREMELy touchy so go easy when making adjustments to the bubble level or you will end up like I did with a wet floor. The good news is the water chemistry has never been better, all the reef critters are happy as clams and I have been able to cut down on water changes. I followed the advice given by other reviewers (after the over flow incident) and have had zero problems. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: The needle wheel version is the one to buy. Pulls nice dark skimmate, but setting it up can make you go crazy. You have to keep tinkering with the bubble box heigth or it will overflow. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.
