this trap is excellent. No soon have we placed the trap, than we already have one in it. We have caught large ones and tiny ones. I would recommend pulling it out and resetting it after you have av five in there. We have caught over 100 in two weeks av, 20 a night! Can't believe how many we have. Thank god for these Traps!!
Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Great product. The trap worked like a charm. Held off on feeding the tank for a day then placed the trap just before lights out. Caught 5 bristle worms within the first hour. Best $5 spent.

As a vetran of aquarium keeping for over 30 years, i have seen some great ideas. This one is the most clever, and works just like it says it should. Put in some bait, set the trap (*very* easy), and come back in 2-3 hours. One warning though - it works too well. I literally caught more than 40 of those little guys, some impressively large, my first series. I got about 5 each time i set it, and when i see more, i get it right back out. You can use their included bait, or any other kind of meat (freeze-dried bloodworms worked best). You'll be sadly shocked at just how many your tank is hiding!!

Does what it says

It does what it says. It traps small bristleworms. However, it does not trap larger worms or harmful worms. Eunicid worms are too fast and stretch out too long to be trapped. Bristle worms large enough to cause problems in your tank won't be caught either. The only thing this traps is small, beneficial worms.
I would not recommend this product to my friends.

I tried the trap, first with the dried brine shrimp that came with the trap. Then I tried with the frozen brine shrimp. NO results. I know I have at least on VERY LARGE Bristle Worm, maybe he's too big to fit in the trap. The hole on the end is very tiny.

Works great, simple to use. Occasionally once caught, the worms can find their way back out of the trap... so check trap every so often to empty.

Good for Brittle Stars Too!

Comments:
So I have a 30 gallon coral and fish aquarium and my bristle worms unfortunately hitched a ride on my live rock as of day one. For a while I was using long tweezers to get them but I found that what I did get was only half the worm, and the other half would retreat back into the hole and regenerate over time...this was not a good solution. Also I had a brittle star in one of my rocks (unwanted by me) that ended up having many many many babies (or at least I think). Unfortunately I have a large demand for copepods in my tank so these little creatures must go. This trap MUST be placed within an inch of where the worm is or you won't get anything. This trap also catches the 1-2mm disk brittle stars very well. I have had great success with this product. Some people say that you have to check the trap an hour after because they can find their way out; I haven't had this issue (or at least I don't think I have) but it does work a lot better if you treat it as such. I would highly recommend this to anyone needing to get rid of bristle worms or brittle star.

I captured 4 worms the first night after I set the traps. FYI return after 2-3 hours after your set the trap. The worms can get out of the trap, so its not fool proof.

Great product, no Shrimp can eat or trap the amount of worms that this product can achieve over night, I have been catching about 15 to 20 worms every night with two traps, but I believe that some of them escape through the night , my suggestion is to check the tube about an hour after you set it in the tank ,since I have observed more worms inside the tube during the night and less in the morning when I am removing the tubes.Rafael RuizSan Juan, Puerto Rico
