Comments: I purchased this in June. Stopped working 9-22-09...3 months old. Per instructions in the Box.."DO NOT SEND BACK TO PLACE OF PURCHASE"...I called ebuweb aquatics...talked to Nick in the warranty dept...he's going to send me another....did not know if it was the ballast or lamp. As far as performace....it has worked very well. I have it on my 120 mix reef. I hope when I receive the unit...this will not be a problem every 3-4 months in use.....that would not be good. As long coral life stands by there products....I am ok with it...what do when the 1 year warranty expires. Hopefully this is a one time fix? Thanks Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I used this unit for a little over a year before upgrading to an Aqua. The twist design is a gimmick because it doesn't affect the contact time at all. Contact time is determined by a simple formula of internal volume divided by flow rate. Doesn't matter if the water is doing loop-di-loops inside, it's the same contact time. The inlet & outlets on this unit are designed so poorly it blows my mind. Be careful not to over-tighten the barb fittings or they'll crack & need to be replaced. Also, there is no way to use standard threaded pipe fittings on this unit so you're stuck with vinyl tubing. This unit does not use a standard UV bulb. Coralife changed the height of the bulb base by a millimeter or so. So while other brand bulbs will plug in, the unit can't be closed up properly with them. That means you're stuck paying for way over-priced bulbs. The clear window at the top of the unit screws on & seals with an o-ring. Mine kept coming lose & leaking. Also, the whole unit housing separates in the middle to access the quarts sleeve. This seals with an o-ring also. My unit probably needed this o-ring replaced because it was leaking from there pretty badly. The unit closes up with a quarter turn & is then locked with a little red tab. This tab broke off of my unit after several months. Finally, because of the bulb & quarts sleeve design, this isn't a very efficient unit in terms of UV wattage, but it gets the job done for a small aquarium. My needs just outgrew this unit. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: This has been the best UV i have ever owned... I have it hooked to my 200 Gallon. I have it where its pumped from the sump to the Uv into a phosban, and then into the 20 gal refugium. It has made my water look so crystal clear. I have a 90 gal acrylic, and it almost looks as clear as that one. I am so impressed. Hoockup was easy, install the bulb, put on teh corect size fitting accoriding to yourhose size and plug it in! This is such a great product and well worth the money. I read what peope said about it leaking, but I have npt had that problem, just when you go to change the bulb do it over a cleared table, this way if anytthing falls out, you will see it. WELL WORTH IT Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I haven’t installed it in my tank yet but I thought it would be helpful for some of you who are thinking about buying this product to know a couple of things. First there is a flat rubber o-ring that seals the bulb. Because it is a flat o-ring you almost wouldn’t miss it if it falls out while changing the bulb. If it does then of course it will leak and cause problems. I’m only saying this because there are a couple of reviews that say it leaks. 2nd this product doesn’t come with a hose or elbows. Just thought everyone should know these things. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I installed the unit 4 days ago and it has eliminated all the green water and algae growth in the tank. The fit and finish of the unit is very good. I'm using this unit in a 220 gal salt water reef tank. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: This product is overpriced junk. Water keeps entering the quarts sleeve and shorting out the bulb. The last time it almost caused a fire! Tossing it in the trash. I know what you are thinking .. he did not put the seals in place, but the quartz sleeve is self contained without any seals! Dont waste your money ... get a different brand. I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: Coralife Turbo-Twist is the first UV system I've used. I am breeding Angel Fish and have had problems with bacteria and alage spores attacking the eggs. The 6x-18 watt Turbo Twist is attached to my Eheim 2215 filter's output and have stopped the bacteria cold. The eggs are hatching with very few lost now, I'm sold on this UV device. I would definitely recommend this to my friends Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: The unit works well when initially set up, but when it comes time to replace the bulb the units develops leaks and shorts out. I don't recommend this unit. I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: i had a totoly green tank you culd not see 2" in to it i put the coralife turbo-twist ex on at 8pm and by 6am the next day the water was cristal clear it was beter than it had ever bin. i thin it help my fish to i had bin fiting ick on my fish and they looked 100% better to i think it killed the ick in the water to. i love it and im telling all my frinds to get one. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I have a 150 Gallon reef tank in my basement and I replaced my U.V. Sterilizer with with this product as the seal had been broken on my old one. I was starting to get hair alge on all my live rock and corals. Within 2 days the Coralife Sterilizer had almost stoped the growth and with the addition of some cleaning live stock my tank is back to normal. Thanks. Comments: I have used this sterilizer for 3 years. I started using it when my 180 gallon aquarium was first set up. I am using a RIO 1400 pump with it. A few months ago I thought I would take it off and see if it really necessary since the configuration of my canopy made access simpler if it were not there. Within a few days my water turned somewhat cloudy and my fish began looking less that pleased with the change. I turned it back on and the water cleared within 48 hours. Needless to say it will remain on my tank. In three years I have never had a leak. I have checked several times to see if it needed cleaning but found no slime or residue built up inside. I do replace the bulb every 6-9 months which is an easy replacement though rather expensive at about $50. It seems comparable to other sterilizers and paired with the performance I will not complain. I would highly recommend this product to anyone. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: This product is great, I run it on my 90 gallon and I have crystal clear water and no hair algae. Tip: slow the flow of the pump to get maximum efficiancy, run it around 60 gph. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.
