Comments: Believe it or not I replaced an H-series Solaris lighting fixture with these lights and I am completely satisfied. I did replace the 150w 10K MH bulbs that it came with to 150w 14K Phoenix bulbs because the bulbs that came with the fixture were not blue enough for my LPS's. They should offer an option in bulbs. Other than that these lights are great. The T5's give my corals much more color than my Solaris ever did. I love the fact that the ballasts are internal because I do not have enough room around my tank to put more external ballasts. This was one of the factors I needed to take into consideration when purchasing the lights. Heat was another factor, but my tank has remained in the 77 degree range with all of the lights on. Also, the night white/blue LED's each have their own switches so I can control the amount of light on my reef at night when feeding. Current gets 2 thumbs up from me. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: This is nice set up however they could have done 3 HQIs in this space (60") instead of 2. I added 2 of the Current USA #1600 15" dual color retrofit kits to each side for supplemental lighting in the ends of the tank. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I RECEIVED THE FIXTURE AND THE HQI BULB VERY FAST, THERE IS JUST ONE THING ONE BULB OF T5 HO 54WATTS WAS BROKEN, I KNOW THAT THIS ITEM IS FRAGIL BUT FOR ME IS NOT A BIG DEAL BECAUSE I LOVE THIS FIXTURE AND THE FISH WILL LOVE IT TO.IM GOING TO TAKE THIS ITEM TO MEXICO AND IM SURE ALL THE FISH AND MY CORALS WILL BE HAPPY AS WELL AS I. Comments: We have only had the light for a couple of weeks. It seems to be much better than the coralife pro we had. It set up much easier and the corals love it. We have a new controller for it and will allow it to bring the light up slowly. A very nice light. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: led's are wonderfull to use night and morning effects followed by superbright actinics really makes corals glow and lightn's up my living room making a show for itself and the very best main light are the metal halides,stunning true colors having the very ocean in a box.really good product the main masterpiece for an aquarium.can be hung or mounted.four power cords and four switches,no problem it comes with two seperate timers.i added my own timer.but other than that u wont be dissapointed but rather impressed. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I did hours of research about lighting before I decided to look into the outer orbit fixtures. Like I read when researching lights, this one produces a lot of light in a little space. As long as that space is 24in. A 20 in version for the Solana would be very nice. The 12 moon lights are a very nice feature and have their own switches on the T5 version. The PC version just has plugs and has to be plugged and unplugged to turn on and off. It also only has one of each led per side instead of 3. All of this and the fact that the 4 T5s make it easy to customize a look (especially in the summer when you might not be able to run the halide if you don't have a chiller) more then make up for the difference in price between the two fixtures. My only gripe is with the mounting hardware. You have to get very creative to hang it if the tank is narrower then the light. Which most 24 inch long tanks are. Another thing to note is that the moonlights are a little bright for moon lights. I wouldn’t use them everyday so the fish get some time in the dark. A note to manufacturers: since the led panels are removable and have their own power supplies. Please make us some High output individually reflected led panel replacements. You could even put more leds in the same area. This would let us cut back on the MH usage saving heat and energy. In closing I like this light so much that I am designing my new tank around it. All you need to worry about is if 150 MH watts are enough for you. If not buy the 250. But I would stick to the T5 versions if your wallet will let you. I had them both and the T5 version is much nicer which is why it costs a hundred more. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I have been using this light for 8 months and I really love it, it's bright, it looks good, and illuminates my entire tank. Recently, at about the 8 month mark, my T5's started to flicker. the problem got progressively worse and eventually T5's didn't ignite at all. Long story short MD replaced the ballast at no charge (as always excellent customer service) 3 hours into the replacement of the ballast I complete the wiring project and the T5's are back up an running. By the way, replacing the ballast didn't take an electrical engineering degree, but you do have to be a bit handy. The reason for writing this review is that I believe the ballast (both sides - one ballast for each pair of T5's) gave out in less than a year due to heat issues. If I had to do it all over again, I would purchase the 2x250w version of this light, which has an external driving system for the MH. I really believe this would make a difference and run the T5's much cooler. Unless CurrentUSA has changed the ballast (Sunpark Electronic ballast inside) I would think other people are having similar issues. On a side note, I also replaced the MH bulbs within a few months. I felt the 10k bulbs were too white for my taste and replaced them with 14k bulbs, better match for the T5's anyway. Overall, I am very happy with the purchase, just thought I would give others a chance to learn from my experiences. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: This unit is working well on my 55 gallon reef. I only gave it 4 stars because the fans (which are nice to be included) have a slight humm to them, also there is a drastic difference in the color of light between the 10k HQI bulbs and the 420nm and 460nm T5 bulbs, had the HQI's been 14k or 20k to match the blueness of the T5's the overall appearance would have been better or vise versa depending on whether you are going for a white light or blue light effect. The overall lenght of the fixture is closer to 37" when you take in consideration the on/off switches on the left side of the fixture. Using the ceiling brackets requires a slightly higher IQ than the one I have, being that there is no instructions and then trying to figure out exactly where to mount it on the ceiling is nearly impossible to get perfect, so take your time doing it or get someone to help you so you don't end up with 5 extra holes in your ceiling like mine. =) If you have the fixture about 6" above your tank, the temperature change is minimal, but you end up lighting up you entire room as well being that this is a very bright fixture. I hope this review helped you decide on a fixture that will fit your needs. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I have 180 gallon tank and its more than enough. My temperature has not gone over 81 degrees even without a chiller. I recommend to buy a power supply because lighting storms can damage the lights. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I was really impressed with the light. It came with hardware for siting on the tank and hanging. It is very bright and every thing in my tank is thriving. I had some problems it arrived with a broken halide lamp and Marine depot sent me a new one at no charge then a few days later a ballast went out and again marine depot sent me a replacement at no charge. I am very happy with the light and Marine depot's customer service! Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: This lighting system was an upgrade, from a 4 bulb florescent sitting on a 120 gallon AGA. And let me tell you it was worth every red cent! The only problem that I had was on receiveing it, one of the T5's were broke. No big deal though as Marine Depot replaced it no questions asked. If you are not used to the noises of a reef tank it takes a day or so to get use to the fans humming. I've got it hooked up (all 4 plugs) to a Aqua Controller III, also. It should be used with a controller because of the temperture. The MH's as with any, will heat up a tank in a hurry. All in all this is the best product for its price and functions, period. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I received my lighting order in 4 days and was very pleased on how it was packaged for shipping. It was well wrapped and very protected. I received it in excellent condition. All that I had to do was remove the protective plastic wrap from the T5 bulbs, secure them and hang the unit. It has 24 hour lighting, dawn full caylight, moonlight and everything inbetween. I love the light quality and the options I have. You get 2 timers with the unit and have the option of using 2 more for more lighting options. The only negative thing so far is they do not supply you with very informative installation instructions or a template for installing the ceiling mounting brackets. The great thing with the ceiling mounts is you can adjust the height by just pushing in the adjustment pin and raise and lower each side with out having to remove any hardware or covers....AWESOME!!! Stay tuned for further info....LOVE EM SO FAR!!! Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: Just like Current advertises, this light is 24hrs of lighting for your tank. T5's + 250w metal halide. Great growth and coloration. The lights are overclocked so its actually running at slightly higher wattage; the MH was clocked at 291w and the t5's are clocked at a little higher than 96w. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: Fit and finish of the light fixture is very nice. I am using on a 120G reef tank and it lights up the tank very well. The hanging kit is also a nice addition and looks well made. On the performance side the lights work well, I like the white/blue light combination for night viewing, looks relly good. Once the metal halides kick in the fixture is noisy, the fans are doing it's job but you can definitely hear them going. It also has timers but these look very poor and I did not use them. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: So far, so good. I've only had the product up and running for a few days, but it is great looking, the T5 lights are more than adequate (switch from PC's), and the HQI's are fantastic. Within 10 minutes of being on, corals were opening up beautifully and the colors on the fish were like I hadn't seen before. I held back a star because I don't think a few days is enough of a sample, and the instructions are useless. While it wasn't that tough to figure out, there was no illustration as to how to remove the plastic from the T5 bulbs, nor how to install the legs. There was, literally, no mention of the moon light feature in the manual. Overall, though, I expect these to work out great and recommend the product. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: When I first got the light, one of the Metal Halides did not work, replaced the ballast and bulb. Then the T5's went out, replaced the ballasts and bulb. One side still does not work. Good luck with this one. I would not recommend this product to my friends.
