"Great for Dawn to Dusk Cycles" and it being a dual outlet timer makes it sound like it can control each outlet independently. This is not the case. I don't know why you would want to power on/off two pieces of equipment at the same time? It is also very bulky - 3x3x2 inches!

Over a year (...or two?) of operation and no problems. I use it to turn off my skimmer and filter for 10 min for feeding. I used to forget to turn them back on. Now with this I just raise one "tab" for a 10 min off timer. Not sure why other people are having problems with it not turning off or on. Might be the red switch. Doesn't work as you would think. Only turns it on if the timer is off. But not off if it's on.

This is a basic timer, that has the push pins for intervals. I like this product because it is so simple.Reliable and does a good job.
It is bulky, so when putting it on a 6 outlet strip outlet, will take up more than one slot.
Overall, good product.

In addition to the poor directions, this device did not work for me. No matter how the times are set, the lights are always on and never turn off. I tried several different approaches after reading the directions over and over with no luck.

we're still trying to figure out the directions. there is one sentence in the directions that reads (For Example: If you want to the ON duration is one hour)
we could make no sense of that sentence. the directions do not include which position to put the red switch in and the very end of the directions read ( Caution: It must be used within the power) my question is within the power of what. I'm sure we can figure out how to use a timer but it's very frustrating to order a product and recieve incomplete and poorly written directions.as to the answer , would i recommed this product i don't yet

As inexpensive as other (large chain store) timers but has added advantage of splash guard and two sockets. Simple, well built, and reliable. Have two and wouldn't hesitate to buy them for new set ups.

This timer seemed simple, and the reviews were good. I bouht 8 of them to run two tanks. Don't waste your money! They are not reliable. They randomly fail to turn off. I come down in the morning and they have left the tank lights on all night. I play with them, switch one unit for another and the same problem occurs. After 3 months, I have now thrown all 8 in the trash. I am going to look for something by INTERMATIC, the timer pros.
