INCREDIBLE!

First, I have to say what a beautiful job was done packing this unit! Triple bubblewrapped, box inside a box, EXCELLENT! The light is everything I hoped it would be! I love the fact that it has 2 switches so I can set the timers to come on at different times of the day. The When both lights are on, it's as if the sun was shining into the tank! Unbelievable intensity! One caution: The feet/brackets that come with this unit, are meant to SLIDE into place to fit the length of your tank. Use 2 people when placing the unit on the tank. Make sure one person is holding their end SECURLY, while the other person slides their leg into place. You'll also find, four little black sticky "buttons" that come with the unit. These go on the bottoms of the feet/brackets for added traction.

Lights

I really like these lights. However, The 2 atinic bulbs that come on first in the morning are very touchy. When I first put the light together I had a hard time getting these lights to work. I think it is the bulbs or maybe the connection. Anyways I still think these are great lights fr the price and rival any other fixture out there. PS they are very cool running too.

neat and compact

I was amazed that it fit under my hood so well. I've been running it for 3 years and it has held up well except that I broke one of the legs that it sits on while trying to adjust it. I've had lots of problems with algae since installing this light making me wonder if it is too much light for my 90 gallon. Can't be sure that it is the light alone causing this. Over all I would recommend this light to a friend.

New Lighting

Purchased this to replace a 4X65 watt Power Compact system for a 75 gallon tank. Definetly brighter. Everything arrived well packaged and was easy to set-up. Legs look thin but seem to be able to handle the load. Quiet fans. This is wider than my previous fixture so opening up the glass on the top of the aquarium to feed and do cleaning is little more difficult. Can't wait to introduce some nicer corals to see how they do.

Good bang for the buck

Ignore the people saying things about "not indevidual reflectors" because that's not what matters. It's how the reflector is contoured around each bulb that counts. Unfortunately the reflector is pretty basic. Essentially 2 bends per bulb section that forms a \_/ shape. While not as good as a parabolic or dual parabolic it's still much better than a single flat reflector. To me it's the most bang for the buck. No other 6 bulb fixture for a similar price come with fans or bulbs. I'd recomend replacing the bulbs with better and higher kelvin units because uppon switching to this fixture I'm in algae city. The fans are not exactly loud, but not quiet either. They use 80mm fans so its lower pitch than smaller fans. I hear a "whoosh" of air more than anything.

Reliable and Bright

I have had these lamps on my 1,200 gal. reef tank for 4 years and not only are they very bright and the corals happy with them, the tank looks very nice, and specially they have lasted these 4 years whereas other MH lamps I´ve tried have died within a few months, particularly as I have the entire fish tank enclosed and the humidity really accumulates. I am very happy with this lamp.

20" and 48"

I have the 48" 8x54w unit run on my 125g system and the 20" 6x18w unit run on my 24g Nano. I LOOOVE the 48" unit...not a single problem after 1 1/2 years. Quiet fans great light output very diverse bulb selection. With the 20" not so much...The bulbs are a HUGE pain to find. Only ONE company is currently making bulbs and coralife discontinued their line. Soooo Trulumen is it. Now the unit itself is amazing...great constuction and amazing light output. But, if trulumen stops making their bulb then there is LITERALLY no options for replacement. I am thinking about returning this simply for that reason but not sure yet!
