AWESOME

I can't believe how easy this thing was to program. The light output is FABULOUS. I just can't complain about any aspect its functionality. Set up was a little hairy, though. I could not get a few of the lamps to come on. They come to you in the horizontal off position so you have to twist them to the virticle on position. Mine was messed up so they would not twist at all. I called the manufacturer and they siad to just put some muscle into it but that was no good since these fixture can easily be broken. They would not twist enough either way so I had to bend them outward far enough to remove the bulb entirely and then reposition the fixture so that is would twist the right way. Once that was done, it worked PERFECTLY. Another kinda stupid thing was the acrylic guard was covered in a plastic protective film on one side and a sticky brown protective film on the other side. The plastic came off easily but the brown stuff was ridiculously hard to get off. The acrylic is very easily scratched so putting a protective sheeth of something that is impossible to remove without scratching it, KINDA DEFEATS THE PURPOSE!! Doh! Still, this fixture is AWESOME. It really puts of a lot of light and not a lot of heat. I also have a two bulb T5 HO fixture (for my refugium sump) and it puts off more heat than this one does. It's not as cheap as others but it is totally worth the money since you get two blue, two white, and two lunar lights all on seperate easily programmable timers that don't go bad as often as the others and can be easily replaced if and/or when they do.

Good first T5 Light

Overall the system is very good. Everything is fully integrated and all in one unit, very easy to use. I have a couple of gripes that keep it from getting five stars. 1) It would not be challenging for them to build the system to include the option of hanging the lights. Drill a couple holes in the top and design the mounting kit, pretty simple. 2) It does not have individual reflectors. Sure the single reflector is bend around each bulb, but it is not the same, nor as effective. With those two complaints in mind, it is really a great system and will be more than enough light for any smaller tank.

Only lasted 1 yr. and 6 months

I have other lighting fixtures that have lasted much longer than the 1 year and 6 months that I got out of this system. Limited warranty is only for 1 year. Perhaps I got a dud? Worked well when it did.

Ahhh yeah!

Overall very happy. Easy set up, timers were easy(unless your a retard), and my tank came to life. No fan noise noticeable. Took about ten minutes to have up and running. Only complaint-The plastic covers that protect the timers from salt creep dont fit worth a crap and keep falling off into the tank. I had to modify to get them snug. There you have it. Do yourself a favor and buy a KZ Fiji Purple bulb and replace one of the blue atenic bulbs, it will make your tank pop!

Awesome lights

Lights have been hooked up for a week now and working great. Easy to set up and to set the timers. I had read that it could be noisy, but no such thing. It operates very quietly. I can't even hear when the timers turn on the lights. No heat problems in my 90 gallon with a hood.

Good setup

I like this light. Only 1 power cord for all 3 circuits is really nice. One of the timers is installed a little crooked in mine, but works fine. The night-time LEDs are not real bright.

Sundial T5HO

The docking mounts are apoor design and of inadequate size for the system. Others utilize a much better system with more substantial mounts for the weight of the system The air gapmounts are also undersized and inadequate. The timers are not designed very well and the markings are very difficult to read. They are also not easy to change without a lot of difficulty. (the timers as well as the docking feet and air gap mounts. If these areas can be approved the system would be much better and possibly worth the expense involved.

Fantastic!

I purchased this light in order to convert my 30g tank from FOWLR to a reef tank. The lights are fantastic! The few corals I have gotten since the lights arrived are thriving and I look forward to filling my tank. I debated getting the unit with the timers, but I am very happy I did. They keep the tank functioning flawlessly and everyone is happy.

Well worth it.

I am very happy with this light.Easy to get up and running, great output..corals love it ! I was a little skeptical cause another review slammed it for having a loud fan but I found no such thing. Love the single cord,no temp rise, timers are easy to set,Leds give some cool night time viewing. Seems to be well built, had it running on my 20 gallon reef for 3 weeks and all is well. Worth it the money .
