Quickly Remove Phosphate by Tom
Experience Level: Intermediate
Posted on 10/26/2009 from Bay Area, CA
Comments: 250 ml ROWAphos reduced 4pmm PO4 to under .5 in 12 hours (or less) in a two-fishies reactor. They recommend no-rinse in non-reactor applications; I can't imagine all that brown sludge in the tank.
Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Works like a charm by KWoo
Experience Level: Intermediate
Posted on 10/22/2009 from CERRITOS, CA UNITED STATES
Comments: I just bought a two fishes phosban reactor and put the ROWAphos in instead. It has worked like a charm so far. I still am checking phoshates and Alkalinity, but so far all the silicate eating diatoms have receeded significantly, the algae on the glass grows very slowly, and the algae in other places have started to halt it's rapid growth. I've only had this in for a week now, but it was pretty much plug and play.
Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Rowa Phos by EMIL SMITH
Experience Level: Expert
Posted on 10/1/2009 from WEST SACRAMENTO, CA UNITED STA
Comments: Because I love Anthias, I have to feed heavily (3-4 times daily) so you can imagine how hard it is to keep PO4 in check...not with Rowa Phos. I use 4 phosban reactors with 250 ml rowa in each and change it out every 2-3 months and as per my rowa-Merck test kit, my PO4 is 0.000. I started out using phosban but couldn't get my readings under .015. Rowa has a markedly different effect on PO4 levels in comparison: it keeps PO4 two levels lower on a consistent basis. It is a must for SPS tanks that have fish with heavy bio loads or heightened feeding demands.
Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Great Stuff by GARY R JANSSEN
Experience Level: Intermediate
Posted on 8/30/2009 from MORENO VALLEY, CA UNITED STATE
Comments: I have been using this product for about 9 months now. I started using it because my phosphate levels were way too high and I had outbreaks of cyno algae. I put this in my canister filter and after a couple of weeks very little cyno still existed. I replace it about every 3 months and cyno algae is a thing of the past.
Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

It works! by CHRIS COMPTON
Experience Level: Intermediate
Posted on 7/14/2009 from TOLONO, IL UNITED STATES
Comments: It's a little exspensive but you get what you pay for. PO4 has slowly been declining from the high levels that I had, around .6 mq/L. After 3 weeks of use in phos. reactor, readings are around .2 mq/L. Must have if you have a heavy bio-load!
Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I have been using this media for two years. I use it on my 2 little fishes phos reactor and it really works well. My phos readings on the first 5 months are 0. Right after you will have to replace the media. You can test to be sure. I put around 7 oz or 200gm each time.

Comments: Due to being lazy with changing the filters in my RO/DI unit, i started getting a brown algae and Cyno Outbreak. The rowaphos has been in my phosphate reactor for 4 days now and not only has it stopped the algae's growth, but it is already going away. Coral's love the low phosphates, MUST HAVE!!!

Could not have worked better.. by WILLIAM MIXON
Experience Level: Intermediate
Posted on 4/30/2009 from CONROE, TX UNITED STATES
Comments: wow.... i have been reefkeeping for 5 years now and just started a new 50 gallon SPS tank and with a new tank comes high phosphates. there are no corals in the tank yet just fish because i have heard about how fast this stuff pulls the phosphates outta the water and i did not want to stress the corals out...nothing i have ever used for phosphates has ever worked. ROWAphos in combination with the 2 little fishies phosban reactor has knocked my phosphates down from above 1.0 to .25 in 48 hours... by this afternoon i should be reading 0... simply amazing

Good Product - but expensive by SEAN
Experience Level: Intermediate
Posted on 3/24/2009 from LEWISVILLE, TX UNITED STATES
Comments: I bought this product to help reduce the hair algae in my 150 gallon tank. I only have the product in my tank for about 3 days now and it’s working very well. The water looks very clear and my algae are reducing as well with the help of snails and hermit crabs. The only thing about this product is too pricey for the amount you get for but a good to have for startup tank.

Comments: I run this in a Deltec fluidized reactor, and it does work to eliminate algae, however, after a few weeks it begins to turn grey and form large clumps that gather near the bottom of the reactor, rendering it unable to fluidize. Have tried phosban and phoslock with no issues, and same results at a cheaper price.

This stuff WORKS! by ORVEL RAY WILSON
Experience Level: Intermediate
Posted on 12/6/2007 from GOLDEN, CO UNITED STATES
Comments: When my son left for college, I inherited his180 gal reef. It had been set up in the library of his high school, where it was poorly kept and over-fed for months and months. The rock was completely blanketed with inch-thick hair algae. After battling algae for more than a year, I tried using PhosBan, but it didn’t work. I switched to running 500 ml of Rowaphos in a Two Little Fishes fluidized bed reactor saw immediate improvement. It has taken about 6 months, and one complete change-out of the Rhoaphos media to leach out all the built-up phosphate, but today the reef is practically algae free.

Comments: I have had a phosphate problem for months now and the hair algae in my tank seemed uncontrollable. I started using ROWAphos about two weeks ago and the algae is definitely dying quickly.
