Deltec MCE300

The MCE300 is the most compact, quiet and affordable Deltec skimmer to date - suitable for an aquarium between 50 and 75 gallons (225-320 lts).
The high manufacturing tolerances and design of the special venturi and pinwheel produce 130 lts of air per hour giving it the same level of performance that you would expect from all Deltec skimmers and outperforming any other skimmer in its class.

The four most important things to consider for a high performance protein skimmer are:

Air Volume
Bubble Size
Air Volume
Air Volume

Foam Fractionation (Protein Skimming) is a process where protein wastes are removed from water by differential electrostatic attraction at an air /water interface. The more air and the smaller the bubbles in contact with the water, the higher the surface area for reaction and the higher the efficiency of the skimmer.

The patented Deltec pinwheel rips the air into the finest bubbles for maximum effect.

Contact time is important but only if there is insufficient air for immediate reaction.

Comparative testing shows that most manufacturers claim a much higher suitable tank size for their skimmers with half the air volume or less.

Can be hung on the outside of the aquarium or sump.
Draws its own water from the aquarium via the internal needlewheel pump.
130 litres of air/hr are produced at the venturi.

H 620mm (allowing for removal of the cup).
Height above lip of aquarium - normal position 170mm.
Width of body only external to tank 100mm.
Pipes extend by 95mm from skimmer body.

Stocking:

Normal Stocking 320 lts (70 UK gallons)
Heavy Stocking 225 lts (50 UK gallons)

Comments: It may be expensive but is by far the best hang on the back skimmer made. I have had it up and running on my 30 gal. reef for over a week and it is already pulling out waste at an amazing rate. Quiet, no bubbles going back to the tank and extremely efficient. The pump might need to be realigned after shipping but after that the unit is easy to assemble. Yes I would recommend this to anyone who wants the best and this truly is.

Comments: I have had the MCE 600 up and running for a few weeks now and could not be more pleased with its performance and quality. Extremely simple plug and play installation with production of skimmate almost immediately. Nice clean unobtrusive appearance, easy adjustment, and a chamber for placement of a media bag are among the features that make this product a genuine winner. Another example of nice German engineering.
