Manufacturer Info

Digital Aquatics Aquarium Supplies
Digital Aquatics was founded in 2004 and has quickly become the most recognized name in aquarium automation. Since the company debuted the original ReefKeeper 1 (now known as the RK1) in 2004, they have gone on to create some of the most flexible, innovative and cost effective aquarium controllers on the market. The revolutionary ReefKeeper Elite (RKE) was unveiled in 2008 and the affordable ReefKeeper Lite (RKL) came out shortly thereafter to appeal to more budget-conscience aquarium hobbyists. In 2010, Digital Aquatics released a reptile version, the HerpKeeper, as well as the aptly named PondKeeper. ReefKeeper controllers simplify aquarium keeping duties by monitoring and controlling a variety of water parameters and equipment including but not limited to lighting, water flow, heating, cooling, pH and ORP.

A few hiccups but working

When it arrived i opened it and noticed it was missing the bus cable. Contacted MarineDepot via phone and I received excellent support. They told me they'd contact the manufacturer and have them ship me a cable. 3 days later the cable arrived. I setup the unit as 'lunar' with 99% intensity and 5 min ramp up. I anxiously awaited for the evening and nothing turned on :( They weren't dim either they were just plain off. Off to google i go in search of a solution. The first thing i found was to check your 'night mode' settings. I never set this up so i was optimistic that this was the issue. However when setting up night mode i learned that it was already setup with a default value from the factory. The lights should have been on. Further searching i learn that they might not come on if it's a 'new moon'. So i lookup the real lunar schedule online and figure out that i just happened to get this all connected at the start of a new moon. Next night same thing. The new moon kinda fell between two days so i could see the possibility of a two day blackout but I'm starting to get worried that something isn't setup right. After more google searching i found a post that suggested changing the function from 'auto' to 'on'. When i did this i could then see the lights start to ramp up. IMO it does actually look like moonlight (i ordered the white). I have just 2 pods on a 48" tank and i think it's adequate coverage for the intended purpose. Anyway, i changed it back to 'auto' mode and when i woke up the next morning i could see that the lights were on but very dim. A few days later i can tell that the lights are brighter due to the moon schedule. So everything is working like it should. A one page instruction manual would've saved me a lot of time on the internet. That's the reason for the 1/2 start deduction. I absolutely love that i don't need to use a timer (or a precious PC4 outlet) to have moonlights. Mimicking the actual lunar proce

Lunar lights

This is one of the best products I had ever bought. It was easy to install and setup. After 4 weeks my clownfish laid eggs! I believe the moon cycle stimulated them to lay the eggs but do be careful with it it is a very sensitive module just a few drops of water on it and the whole thing burns out.

Like the options

The option of running different color pods is very cool. Wouldn't recommend mixing them. Not as bright as I would of liked but still does the job on a 24 tall tank.

Perfect

Takes 5 minutes to install and works exactly as it's designed to work. I have mine set to follow the lunar cycle and it's amazing to watch the lighting adjust every night. Another wonderful gadget from Digital Aquatics!

Digital Aquatics Lunar Pods

Just got these hooked up a couple days ago and love them. They are easy to install and give off a soft blue light. I've been able to see things going on in the tank that I've never observed before. They are well made and easy to install. The MLC easily connects to the system in just a couple minutes.

Lunar Light Module

Works Great. You have to use lights supplied by Digital Aquatics. Colors are limited to Red, White, and Blue. Would like to see another color added closer to UV spectrum. This is the second one I've purchased and will be adding to my other tanks as I can afford. You need to let lights run full cycle to fully appreciate the colors and unique lighting module adds to tank.

Great lights

Product was real easy to use, I replaced the night lights and connected the wires to the hub, I would have been able to avoid this had I not skimped on the light set up at the start. I ran the wire through th old moonlight openings and used some crazy glue to secure the pods over old moon lights, it worked great, I do wish it was a little brighter but overall great product and very easy to set and use.
