EcoTech Marine

TIR stands for Total Internal Reflection. By redirecting more of each LED cluster`s output in a usable direction (in your tank), TIR lenses are able to boost peak PAR levels by up to 45% and total (average) PAR levels by up to 23% beneath the fixture without sacrificing spread or consuming additional power.

While many make claims, EcoTech delivers. The TIR lens incorporates EcoTech`s ongoing commitment to innovation and improvement for the benefit of its customers. A modular upgrade for a truly modular fixture makes the EcoTech Marine Radion XR30w LED Light Fixture an ever brighter solution for aquarium lighting.

Manufacturer Info

EcoTech Marine has revolutionized the way people think about water movement in reef aquariums. Our technologically superior pumps produce unmatched broad yet gentle flow, while placing the motor outside the tank—preserving the beauty of your aquarium and enhancing the health of your aquarium ecosystem. The EcoTech leadership team consists of aquarium enthusiasts and engineers with a penchant for challenging the status quo. When EcoTech took root in the science labs of Lehigh University and University of Oklahoma, we realized there were serious differences between the native aquatic ecosystems in nature and the terrestrial habitats created in aquariums—and that little was being done to address this gap in the marketplace. Since that day, we have worked tirelessly to improve the “state of the art” to enable our customers to have the healthiest, safest and smartest aquarium possible. That’s why our products offer a wide variety of easy-to-program modes and have been thoroughly tested and endorsed by marine-biologists—making it the most versatile and life-like pump on the market.

Great Upgrade

I purchased these to upgrade my Gen3 Pro. The instructions are for the Gen2 so you have to be ready for the difference. They are Step 1: you will need to remove the 4 screws, but the fan housing in now built into the cover. Omit Step 3, there are no lens screws. Omit Steps 7,8 and 9 as the Gen3 already has the wires moved to a new location. Omit Step 10, I compared the original lens with the new lens and both had the nibs, so I left them on. Reassemble in reverse order. The lens increase the spread quite a bit. I have a LPS and soft coral tank, so I'm only using 1 radion on my 72 bow front, and the wider throw helps reach the corners.

Great upgrade. See a noticable difference in the spread of the light. Light is more uniform throughout now.

Huge Difference

I have 2 radions installed over my 100 FOWLR tank. I did the upgrade on one unit and did a visual comparison with the old lens. Major difference in brightness and coloration within the tank!! I'd only caution that if you have coral, you might want to contact Ecotech to inquire about the increase in brilliance and how the coral may react. Other than that, was well worth the price. Installation was a breeze (watched the included video).
