EcoSmart Live
Wouldn’t it be cool if the Radion communicated wirelessly with other Radion units. Well, it does – through EcoSMART Live. Lighting control is now in the cloud.
Thanks to the controller’s web interface (compatible with Mac and Windows), Radion owners can enjoy EcoSMART’s cutting-edge controls and user-friendly design on a computer or tablet with an internet connection. New features are implemented automatically, with no work for the user.
Note: A Radion must be connected via USB to a computer running the Connection Manager in order to control your lights from the web.

TIR Lenses
The Radion XR30w G2 features EcoTech Marine’s new Total Internal Reflection (TIR) lens, which directs more of each LED cluster’s output directly into in your tank. TIR lenses boost peak PAR levels by up to 45% and total (average) PAR levels by up to 23% — without sacrificing spread or consuming additional power.

Battery Back-Up
Blizzard. Hurricane. A motorist hits a utility pole. Stuff happens. The power goes out… the Radion is fully compatible with the EcoTech Battery Backup.
In the event of a power outage, lack of light energy over the aquarium results in corals switching from photosynthesis (producing oxygen) to respiration (consuming oxygen). When used with a Battery Backup accessory, the Radion emits low levels of light intended to prevent corals from respiring, and therefore; your Radion will help to maintain an oxygen-rich environment for your fish during this critical time period.
Manufacturer Info
EcoTech Marine has revolutionized the way people think about water movement in reef aquariums. Our technologically superior pumps produce unmatched broad yet gentle flow, while placing the motor outside the tank—preserving the beauty of your aquarium and enhancing the health of your aquarium ecosystem. The EcoTech leadership team consists of aquarium enthusiasts and engineers with a penchant for challenging the status quo. When EcoTech took root in the science labs of Lehigh University and University of Oklahoma, we realized there were serious differences between the native aquatic ecosystems in nature and the terrestrial habitats created in aquariums—and that little was being done to address this gap in the marketplace. Since that day, we have worked tirelessly to improve the “state of the art” to enable our customers to have the healthiest, safest and smartest aquarium possible. That’s why our products offer a wide variety of easy-to-program modes and have been thoroughly tested and endorsed by marine-biologists—making it the most versatile and life-like pump on the market.

This light is very bright! Offers a very user friendly program (Ecosmart Live) to setup your lighting schedule. The software is still a bit buggy, but is apparently still in beta. Great features, and a overall great light.

I had an older light system on my 90 gallon reef when half of it went out. Replacement parts were no longer available so I ordered the Gen 2 Radion. I put temporary lights over my corals on the dark side, but I still had decline, especially with a birdsnest coral before the Radions arrived. Technical help at Radion was excellent, helping me get the lights configured the way I wanted them.
These lights are BRIGHT if run at full strength. Even set at 70%, there was some acclimation to the corals that were used to my older, less bright lights. Some lost color, some shrunk, but some expanded and did better. The ones that seemed distressed by the new lights came back, got their color back and fluffed back up after a week or so. And the birdsnest that had died at the base and only survived at the tips? Well, they rejuvinated and grew back down to their base and are fuller than ever.

Have had three units for 1 week over 125 gallon 60" sps tank. Color rendition great, LUX great, I cannot measure PAR but I have faith in Ecotech's engineering. Have had one unit only semifunctional since start up but am working with Ecotech to resolve, sure its a little bit of a bummer but nothing is perfect and they are going to resolve it so no biggie. So the negatives... Programming is easy once YOU figure it out and I mean YOU. There is no step by step at all or any indication of what intensities relate too on any channel. So is 80% overal intensity equal to 175W etc..
So its up to you to guess however with lux meter I was able to kinda guess. There is no indication of what a day should be in hours so what is saturation point? Storm mode is a cool idea but the white LEDs stay on so at night it lights your tank between flashes. So they should call this feature lightining storm at night except its day. Bugs aside it is a stellar product, light output is awesome, programming options a little too good.(makes you want to tweak it all the time) I paid $1950 for three lights I calculate it will cut my electric bill $200.00 a month over the halides. So if they last 10 months I break even plus that darn chiller wont run as much. I will follow up later with results on corals.

Ive had 2 xr30w's over my deep blue 75 for over a year. Initially many corals were bleached and died off. Some have survived and continue to grow like my frogspawn, one head left of 6 on a torch coral, some small poyups and leather corals however nothing looks that great and mushrooms all seem to be dieing. i recently got some new corals and an bta. the bta is hiding. I have since changed the lighting program from stock to include more blue light and less whites to see if it helps any. I want to think it is some other issues going on in the tank but i havent had these problems in any of my t5 or mh setups. Most of the expensive corals that died came from a 12 gallon tank w a 150w mh so I don't think the light was to strong. just dont know if led is up to par yet. It is also not the easiest to learn to program or find information or other long term successful tanks w/ led

I have been in the hobby for more than 20 years got in very young and have tried many lights over the years. I even worked part time helping a local shop teaching the owner and employees about saltwater and how to setup and sell saltwater fish and corals. I was very worried about putting out the money for these lights but wow, these are beyond cool. I put three above my 125 and I can’t believe how good it makes the tank look. Nothing better than watching controlled lights come on and go off in such a controlled manner (sunrise/sunset). I have only had them on two days and can’t believe how good these are and I am sure I will only get better at dialing in the look. I have them set at 40% because I don’t want to shock my tank. The latest set of lights I had on my tank were two Ice cap with 6 bulbs (660 watts) did two on then four on for a slight sunrise/sunset affect, but that was a joke compared with these. At 40% I am using the Natural setting so it is controlling the color and some corals look much much better and some don’t. I will try dialing that in over time. I was going to bump mine up 10% a week. The shimmering affect is much better then the metal halide and doesn’t compare to my last set of VHO. If you can afford these and justify the savings because these at 40% have my coral opened more than the VHO so I would guess at a minimum I have a 60% savings on electricity first pure wattage is lower even if I eventually bring these to 100%, second is the chiller runs a lot less. Then instead of rotating these bulbs out at 12 months these things will last more than 10 years. All I can say is wow, these are not DYI or junk craigslist these are beyond good. If you think I am talking so big because I work for Ecotech and posting this look at my www.shoretelforums.com name, it matches this one, I run that forum and I am the top poster if you look in the upper right corner (rwensmann). I believe in helping the community, I am in the phone system busin
