Ecoxotic Aquarium Supplies
Ecoxotic grew out of a small tribe of aquarium hobbyists who believed the focus of the aquarium industry was no longer on the hobbyist.  Keeping an aquarium has become a chore: they are too complicated and the industry is fraught with inefficiencies and misinformation. Essentially, the thrill of having an aquarium is gone. So, we created a company where we could be more creative, spread our passion for change and cultivate a new tribe of hobbyists. Focusing on our core beliefs has resulted in a product line that is simple, elegant, easy-to-use and makes fish keeping fun again. When we design a new product, innovation, simplicity and environmental responsibility are core tenets for the team. We draw Inspiration from inside the hobby – specifically from freshwater, marine and reef aquarists – and outside the hobby (specifically our wives and their friends.) This design philosophy is applied across our entire product line, which includes modular LED aquarium lighting fixtures, integrated aquariums and accessories.

BAD LED BULB

I bought this bulb for my 20 g refugium. Since using the bulb all of my macro algae has withered away and is dying. Yet another disappointment in the aquarium hobby for me. This bulb sucks don't buy it.

Good light but doesn't last

It's a good light, provides good light and little heat. I have been using one in my sump/refugium. The macro alge really likes it and grows fast. However I have only had this bulb for 3 years and at 8 hours a night that's only 8000 hours. Not the advertised 50000 hours.

Great product poor durability

I have no complaints about how these lights work; I own 8 of these bulbs of all the different combinations that are sold on MarineDepot. The coloring on the corals is very good and I have not had any trouble with stony corals bleaching or turning brown. I also have clams under these lights. Growth rates and the look of the tank are great. My big complaint is that with the exception of the two bulbs that I own with red LED lights every other bulb has been returned in less than one year to the manufacturer for warranty. It begins with the bulbs flickering when they startup and I send them back when the bulbs begin to constantly flicker during operation. The company customer service has been great since they have sent me a new bulb every time. The last bulb that I received back also began to flicker but I decided not to send it back since I have already sent 6 bulbs back. I think that I will wait to purchase more of these until they update the model and work the kinks out. like I said the LED lights with the red in them have never given me any problems; it is the other ones that have been an issue. I have sent photos of my light setup to the ecoxotic and they have said that my setup looks ok. I also have a entire home surge protector. I have asked if there is anything else I can do to ensure that this product has a long life since it is quite a sum of money to own 8 bulbs with 2 replacements on hand. I will wait till all the bulbs are designed like the red LED ones to purchase more.

LED lights are the future!

This purchase of 2 additional Ecoxotic PAR38 3blue/2white LED bulbs puts a total of 6 over my 180 gallon reef tank. I have now eliminated all metal halide bulbs and am down to only 2 96 watt atinic power compact bulbs to compliment the stunning power of these LED bulbs. The shimmer effect on the water (I feel) is better than the 2 - 250watt and 3 - 150watt metal halides ever produced. The depth penitration does not appear to be as bright but my corals and anenomies dont seem to mind at all. Previous lights used 1334 total watts vs 126 watts LED watts with 192 watts for 4 power compact = 318 = less energy = less heat = no chiller = less energy = less $$$! My remaining power compact days are numbered!

Astonished!!!

I bought 2 2-royalblue/3-white and 1 3-royalblue/2-white and all I would like to say about the ecoxotic PAR38 is that the color and shimmering effect make my nano reef tank look totally different compared to my t5s. I had some trouble trying to find a way to hang them,..I finally found the "reef clamps" making everything so much easy.,I gave it 4 1/2 stars cause I just have like a week with my par38s and I would like to give it some time to see how my corals respond to the change..

Ecoxotic PAR 38 LED Lamps

I have three of these hanging in $6 pendant fixtures 12" over the water. Tank is 36" long and 24" deep. It took me several months to figure out that how high to have them. At first they were too bright for the coral. Now the coral is thriving. A little more instruction on how to place them would be nice. Love the look and how the coral is doing now.

Good Product but Bad QC

Overall very satisfied with the lamps. Bought lamp stands from Ikea and able to mount them pretty much anywhere. Very bright and relatively low heat on the lamp. Ordered two lamps of 5x Royal Blue. When received the products, both lamps have slightly different packaging method (one with styrofoam to protect face of lenses, the other only has cardboard). Both packaging labels are 5x Royal Blue, but one turned out to be NOT what I had ordered. Long story short, I got a 5x Royal Blue and a 3xWhite + 2x Royal Blue now.

Ecoxotic PAR 38 LED

This light works great for my 28gallon nano reef tank. Some LED lights can be too strong and harsh for some corals, and lead to algae growth. This one gives a nice, mild, shimmery light that the corals love. The fixture is tough and hardy, and has not succumbed to salt spray damage, as many of the other lights I have tried have. The only downside is that it is on the small side. I would recommend two of these lights for a 28 gallon tank.
