I have previously utilized a canister filter as a sump water vacuum. Yes I said vacuum.
I recently setup a Nano Reef aquarium (with live rock in the sump) and was in need of a way to remove detritus.
I find the Eheim nimble enough to allow me sufficient maneuverability i.e. it is not too large to obstruct my access (lean over the canister) to my sump. The discharge and input tubing us soft enough to permit flexing to access all parts of my sump.
I would have given this product 5 stars but find the pump motor a bit underpowered.

The overall quality of this filter is excellent. Built to last. Comes with everything you need. Only this lacking is instructions!! Had to do some research online on how to set up and get it started. The start up was difficult and hard to figure out once you got it all together. They don't tell ya that you have to "prime" the filter. But once I got it going it cleared up the tank nicely and haven't had a problem.

Really good quality filter,extremely quiet and efficent. Easy to assemble [once I threw the assembly instructions away]. Just used the pictures on the box, much easier that way.Primed it and pluged it in, no fuss, it's purring like a kitten. Water is already much cleaner and clearer. I am removing the last of the filter medium[bio balls] that came with my 29 gal bio cube. they are no longer needed.

As soon as I received my filter I added the included media and hooked up the filter and plugged it in. No drips,leaks or errors. The canister runs super quiet and was a snap to put together. I'm using it for a Mr Aqua 12 gallon long tank which I purchased with the filter. The flow from the 2215 reaches across the other side of the tank effortlessly. The only thing that was a bit of a bummer was that the elbow to hook up the spraybar with wasn't included. Overall I'm happy with it.

wish it had came with a better instructions, but me and my turtle love the cleanliness of the filterers performance, rather large don't let the picture fool ya. I am 110% pleased withe the performance and price of the filter and loved how Customer Service got it to me quickly!

The Eheim Classic is the best. Runs quiet and the price can't be beat! This was a second 2217 for my 80 gallon. Just gotta figure out a way to slow the pressure a little so the inhabitants dont get blown away! :)
