A quick disconnecting coupling with one on/off valve each. Double taps are an ideal solution for clean, hassle free filter maintenance. They should always be installed on the water intake and output as close to the filter as possible. I replaced this only because the sealing O-rings that are part of the valves in my old units finally became leaky after about 10 years of service. Granted it would be nice if one could replace just the large and small O-rings but the sealed design prevents this and the lifespan is very long. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends. These work perfectly, to allow me to remove the pump for cleaning without removing all the tubing in the aquarium. Look good, easy to attach and use.
