The instructions are a little confusing but once you figure them out it is very easy...over all great feeder. I am comfortable going on vacation for several days and knowing that i will come home to all my fish being alive. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends. Flake food will not be driven/dispersed by this feeder. It works for me, because I feed a lot of pellet, but dont expect it to work well for small pellet or flake.
