PURE Marine. Have you tried it yet?

PURE Marine should be used regularly as part of your maintenance program to maintain the biological equilibrium inside your aquarium. PURE Marine can also be used to recover the bacterial balance following a filter crash or to speed up the maturation process in new filters. PURE Marine uses groundbreaking technology to maintain crystal clear and healthy water in marine and reef aquariums. PURE Marine is a combination of marine-specific bacteria and enzymes that provide many benefits including:

  • Reduces organic waste
  • Maintaining a biological equilibrium
  • Improving nitrification
  • Accelerating maturation process
  • Reducing BOD / DOC / TSS
  • Rapidly restoring equilibrium
  • Reducing filter and skimmer maintenance/cleaning

Product Details:

  • PURE Marine is a natural product. It is therefore perfectly normal that the balls may vary in size.
  • PURE Marine will respond to the water conditions in each tank . This means that variation in appearance is normal and the rate of change can vary.
  • Each PURE Marine ball is manufactured from a natural polymer and is biodegradable.
  • As with most bacterial products, the manufacturer recommends the addition of air into your tank using an air pump or venturi.
  • Wash hands after use. Keep in a safe place out of the reach of children. If swallowed, drink plenty of water.
How do I use PURE Marine?

You can use PURE Marine as part of your regular maintenance program. You cannot overdose with PURE Marine. To maintain crystal clear healthy water, add 3 x PURE Marine balls for every 10 gallons of water once per week into your marine aquarium filter. Alternatively, place the balls in a filter bag and position in the tank or the filter in an area with good flow. Each package contains approximately 50 balls. There are freshwater and pond formulas available as well.

Works well, happy fish.

I didn't have any specific problems with water quality, other than nitrates a little higher than I'd like (20ppm). Still, 24 hours after introducing a ball into my 16g nano, the water seems to be a little sharper, nitrates have dropped a little (15ppm). And, a delightful discovery, although possibly a coincidence: The morning after introducing the balls, my two clownfish, who have never shown interest in my bulb anemone in the three months I've had it, had suddenly moved in!

Clear Water

Every time I put these beads in my refugium, the tank is crystal clear the next day. I use them with each water change. I'm going to order more.

Snake Oil

Used the product exactly as the directions recommended and I did not notice any change. Actually most of the balls didn't even dissolve I had to crush them up. I do have two balls still sitting in my tank 1 month later fully intact. All of my measurements have not changed and no change in cynobacteria.

Evo Aqua Pure Marine

Have been using this item for several months. Excellent item to help with tank water specs. Only draw back is the price.

Not worth the money

I bought some and used it as per instructed. I didn't see any change in my tank at all. I had some bryopsis and some hair algae also diatoms, they were still growing strong after treatment. I had done a large water change with ro/di water befor the first dose to try to bring down any levels of nitrates or phos, to give this stuff a fighting chance. I saw no results, until I added a bunch of mexican red leg hermits to take care of the algae. Not worth the cost.

Product really works

I use this in the UK and saw the video on this website so wanted to share my thoughts. My experience of this product is that it really cleared up my messy tank. I keep topping up with the balls and it seems to work. I would highly recommend it to your customers.

It Works!

I have been useing this for about 3 weeks.I was having some problems with Dinoflagellates all over my live rock.I can now say after useing this stuff as of today they all are gone.I did nothing different maintenance wise than put the pure marine in my fiter sock.Only downside is the amount you need to use for money spent.

I'm Buying More

PURE Marine is a little on the expensive side, but I found the product essentially lives up to its claims. My nitrates and phosphates came down after putting the bioballs into a filter sock and placing it into my nano's back chamber in a filtration rack. My water clarity is noticeably clearer and the cyano issue I was having on my sandbed has cleared up. The 50 balls lasted me about a month and half. I'm liking what I'm seeing after my first box so I'm going to pick up another to see if the benefits continue. The instructions recommend adding air into your tank and I do have a skimmer running... whether that is helping me achieve favorable results I don't know. Just figured I should mention it.

Vodka works better

I believe that this product would be good for setting a new tank, to allow some good bacteria to colonise your tank. It won't do anything more than a regular dosage of vodka would do. It is way too expencive, for my size tank 50 balls only last 2 weeks, and a bottle of vodka will last 6 months.
