Oddly that seems like a good thing as he wouldn't have made it though may of the disease listed???
He has times of white feces and the others brown thicker feces?
He seems to be moving more. being as he was WC should I stop trying to feed him jungle labs anti-parasite food? He seems to have taken at least some of it as yesterday he seemed slightly more active.

| Steve, For those who may be reading this for the first time - here is history of the clown in question: http://www.marinedepot.com/FORUMS/Topic25713-10-2.aspx,.m The active ingredients in the Jungle anti-parasitic food is metrodinazole, praziquantel & levamisole. How long have you been using it? Are you just feeding the pellet food? The praziquantel & the levamisole are dewormers which I believe that all fish should be dewormed especially wild caught. The metrodinazole is for internal parasites. I read that on 2/9 that he developed a lesion on his chin and does a jerky motion. Is he still doing that motion ? What is the status of this lesion ? What pathogen are you trying to treat? Metrodianozle will not help with brooklynella or bacterial infections of the skin or systemically. The female clown that died may have had worms but that was not the cause of her skin lesions. I still think that this male clown might have a subclinical infection or low grade in light of the fact he has/had a lesion on his chin . His immune system may be able to overcome it. Melafix/pimafix are not antibiotics but contain "homeopathic" ingredients. I am a firm believer in herbal/homeopathic treatments but always in conjunction with proven therapy and not as a sole treatment. For every case that a hobbyist says it worked - there are two plus stories that it didn't work. For those of you who may want to breed your fish, there is a warnign on both the melafix & pimafix labels - "This product contains a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer or birth defects orother reproductive harm". Thanks for the update.

Na he doesnt seem to be doing the jerky motion anymore, however he's not really cruising around the tank either he likes to stay in one or 2 spots, infact he has no interest in the pellet food however it seems think he's taking it cause he's hungry. I am putting in seachem garlic attractant as thats all the LFS had. Boy does it have garlic in it pppp uuuuuu
As for a pathogen to treat... I sense something is wrong with him an started using that as many led me to believe he had some sorta of internal something.
As for Melafix and Pimafix... how can it be homeopathic if it can cause cancer? Fenner said it was toxic on wetwebmedia??
The jungle labs anti-parasite food says it has a "warning this product contains a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer or birth defects or other reproductive harm"
Why is it they can make can't make a product which is safe?
I think saccharin is a carcinogen in Cali too? Heck their air sure must be.
I did want to breed this little guy, an only used the melafix for about a week?

| Steve, I just looked at my jungle anti-parasitic food & it state"Warning for California Residents: This product contains a chemical known to the Stat of California to cause cancer" Nothing about birth defects or fertility. I would not be worried about any of the dewormers causing fertility issues as many known clown fish breeders have used them without fertility issues. I would enrich the mysis with beta glucan & vitamins to boost its immune system so it can hopefully fight off this infection. What about the lesion you mentioned on another thread/forum on 2/9 ????

ILikeFish - Why not move him to QT now and treat him as needed without risking the main tank?

| Steve, Can you post a close-up/macro of the clown in question? So since 2/9, the lesion/fuzz/whatever under its chin is gone or still present?
