Fiji`s Best Saltwater Aquarium Live Rock – 25 lb. Box

Fiji’s Best Saltwater Aquarium Live Rock is handpicked high-quality live rock collected from marine environments in Fiji.

The average weight of each piece of rock is between 3 to 5 lbs. The rocks are carefully packaged inside a 14" x 11" x 9" box insulated with plastic to preserve the beneficial bacteria, micro and macro flora/fauna. Boxes weigh approximately 25 lbs and are shipped via 3 Day service to ensure freshness. Just select ground shipping during checkout and we`ll upgrade you to 3 Day service at no additional cost.

Placing live rock inside a salt water aquarium has been one of the methodologies that has lead to widespread success within the hobby. The porous open structure of Fiji’s Best Live Rock allows the rock to host a wide array of beneficial bacteria, micro and macro flora which are crucial for biological filtration in marine fish-only and reef aquarium systems. Each box contains rocks in a variety of shapes, colors and sizes.

Most pieces feature naturally formed pores that aid in water circulation and provide natural hiding places for fish and invertebrate. Pieces range from sandy-colored to brown, green, maroon and purple depending on the amount of coralline algae, plant and sponge coverage.

The arrangement of the décor inside your aquarium—the placement of rocks, plants and corals, for example—is typically referred to as the aquascape. Aquascaping your aquarium using Fiji’s Best will allow you to create a natural base to place coral and other invertebrate. Light-loving corals can be placed on higher platforms while low-light or non-synthetic coral can be place midway down, underneath archways or inside caves. Corals that demand different levels of water flow can also be meticulously placed in this fashion.

Buy live rock from Fiji’s Best to add a greater level of biodiversity to your reef aquarium ecosystem. Sponges, plants, starfish, mollusks, worms and crustaceans are common hitchhikers that begin appearing in tanks once the rock has been established. Hitchhikers help your aquarium by filtering water, eating detritus and/or acting as a food source for other animals.

We typically recommend 1 to 2 lbs. of live rock per gallon, depending on the look you’re trying to achieve. Although the live rock is pre-cured at its origin in Fiji, you will want to re-curing the rock upon arrival for best results. Pieces may rub against each other during transport so a small bit of rubble might be present inside the shipping box.

Live rock can be secured together inside your aquarium using reef glues & epoxies, cable/zip ties or plastic pipes to build stunning aquascapes that replicate coral reefs found in nature.

Nice!!!

Not sure how this rock has any bad reviews. I've been in the hobby for 12 years now and this rock is perfect for a new reef tank. Enough dead material to get the cycle started while still having plenty of life. Some of the other reviews had complaints about the shape. Honestly, I used the order comments box and requested natural looking pieces. MD staff did not disappoint!!

noob

This was my first time getting live rock shipped to me. It was packaged and wrapped pretty well, however the rock was dry. I'm not sure if this is normal, though. Anyway, the rock looks good. Lots of large pieces considering I ordered 25lbs.

not LIVE rock

Although this rock has nice structure,it's devoid of all life. been in the hobby for 25 years, and any time I've bought live rock its teaming with life. This rock may have been live at some point but when it arrived was simply dried out rock, not cured, just dried dead rock.

Pleasently surprised

After reading a number of the other reviews, I didn't have terribly high hopes, but when I opened the box, I was quite happy. It included at least 30#s of awesome large coral skeletons, the rest was smaller rubble type pieces that I put in my sump, all with a good amount of coralline algae. The rock certainly needs to be cycled, but that was expected.

Fiji Live Rock

The 50lb box of live rock was outstanding. Nice looking rock, packaged well and wet. The 25lb box however was dry. Also the live rock was delivered a day ahead of schedule. Glad someone was available to submerse it.

Rock purchase

The rock that I recieved does not look like the Fiji rock I thought I was purchasing. Also there was about 2 to 3 pounds that was broke. And now I have a issue with brown algea which I have never had in my tank. Any way I guess this is the risk you take when you dont see what you are ordering when it comes to this type of purchase.

Ugly, dense, bad shipment?

Received my order yesterday and the rock is UGLY, it has a good amount of corallines but the rock is all dense shelf rock that was once larger pieces that were broken in to a bunch of triangles. Not very natural looking at all. Looks absolutely nothing like the picture. After it seeds my dry rock 90% is going to my sump.

WORST ROCK

Received the rock in five days, After un-boxing i found that the rock had no newspaper to keep it moist and was 100% dry. The rock was not porous and the was just a bunch of small pieces.

Nothing but rock

For the first thing I want to say is that this isn't real Fuji love rock, this is cultured live rock. When I received the rock it was completely dry which baffled me. I proceeded to cure the rock for an additional three days after receiving it and still do not see any life on the rock whatsoever. I'm very disappointed in that there wasn't any macroalgae or sponges. I would be happy if I even found a hitchhiker of some sort. Not at all what I expected.
