I have been using the PCX40 for 6 months now and I am getting about 560-580 GHP using 3/4" ID tubing with about 18-19 ft of head (only a 40 gallon tank). Pump is much quieter and runs cooler to the touch than the Little Giant I had before. Got this when it was on sale for great price of only $143.99 and .70 cents for shipping (insurance cost I think).

I have 2 of these in my living room. One for my skimmer and one for the return. I am amazed at how quite they are. Completely satisfied. I have the tv off and I hear the water rippling and the skimmer. Great pumps.

Been running mine for 3 years straight with no issues. Disconnected it about 12 months ago to clean it out and was pleasantly surprised to find that there was very little build-up inside it.
I run it in my basement next to the refugium and it returns water to the 90G display tank on the first floor. Total height from pump to return outlets is about 8 feet.
The hum is significant but damped effectively when I put it on a piece of carpet and partially surrounded it with spare rug pieces.

Pump works great. Love the fan to help keep the motor cool but it does make it louder than my previous pump. The noise is the only thing I would like to change. It's not crazy loud but more than a hmmmm.

I run 2 of these on my 350 gallon peacock bass tank. Like the other reviews stated, these are great pumps functionally, but very noisy. With these 2 pumps running side by side I can hear the "hum" in just about any room in the house. If noise is not a factor these are fantastic pumps for the price. But if you have these in a room where you watch TV or something like that, I would really advise to shop around for a much more quiet pump.

The other day I thought this pump was broken, I use this to drive my Bullet 2 skimmer, apprently I install the Beckett Valve backward and stoped the water flow, I took the pump out and opend it, it's just got some dust on it and was working fine, this pump has been driven my Bullet 2 for 7 years and it's still working like new. I got my money's worth

I've been looking for a larger pump for a while until I found this one. It's quiet, moves a lot of water, and the price is a lot lower than many others I saw. I'm using this to move water from my sump through my chiller and back up to the tank. Great product. I may buy another to keep as a backup!
