The New system 230 T5 was to satisfy the requirement of as many aquarist as possible with a single range of lights. So it’s no surprise that this model very quickly became one of the most popular aquarium lights anywhere.

The answer in regards of our customers wishes is the New 230Plus T5. Boasting a low-slung, gently contoured design, the fixture is crafted from a high-quality extruded aluminium alloy, thus guaranteeing virtually noiseless operation and an exceptional finish. Runned by the Low-Loss magnetic ballast and digital starter, the system provides confort in use and in efficiency for optimum metal halide lamp control.

The digital starter technology has the advantage of being particulary quiet with no startup noise while the built in electronics system shuts down defective lamps before they can damage the light. The fixture comes with low-loss, partially printed UV filters and parabolic, low-glare aluminium reflector as standard equipement.

Among the carefully thought design features of the system 230 are ease of lamp replacement, when only one screw needs to be slackened, and the ability to adjust the fixture both vertically and horizontally to modify the light output to suit individual requirements.

The system 230 plus also offers T5 fluorescent lamps providing powerful supplemental light. In freshwater aquariums, consecutive light switch-on and off substantially reduces the stress of your fish. For marine setups the use of blue compact fluorescent lamps enhances the requisite spectral components of the light, which means fish, corals and invertebrates exhibit considerably better growth and the visual appearance of your aquarium is significantly improved. Continious, rapid action height adjustement by steel wire and a choice of three different colours are an additional plus.

Comments: NOTE: This is a review of the 48" 150 MH x2 + T5 54w x 2. I bought this fixture after an unfortunate experience with another manufacturer who offered great customer service but a very poorly designed and manufactured product. The Eco/Plus is probably the oldest light made by Giesemann and is getting hard to find. It is also the least expensive model in their range--but still not cheap. That being said, it is beautifully manufactured and it screams quality. The ballasts are magnetic but absolutely silent, even at start up. The MH lamps are, to my eye, a pure, clean white. Illumination is quite even in both axes over my 125g and there is very little spill light. The cable suspension system is slick and easy to adjust. My only complaint is that the instruction manual is missing all but the first and last pages. However, this is a known phenomenon with this model. Go figure. A fixture of exceptional quality and performance. Worth every penny.
