Works Good

It's a good way to read PH. I can't stand trying to read the colors and maybe off. the blues all look the same. This meter was expensive, but what in this hobby is not. If you want a good instrument, Then this is the one.

Good Product

The Hanna PH tester is extremely easy to use and is very accurate. You just need to remember you will need to also order at least one calabration PH solution (7.01 or 4.01) or both for a more accurate calabration, an electrode cleaning solution, and an electrode storage solution to keep the PH sensor wet when not in use. With these few items you are ready to go.

Don't forget the fluids

The meter works great, but you really need to purchase the probe cleaning solution (HI 7061) and the storage solution ( HI 70300), as well as calibration solutions. I think they should include small starter packets of these they way many companies do. The meter does require frequent calibration, as do most pH meters. However, once calibrated,it is very accurate and easy to use.

Easy To Use!

I have been using the chemical test kits to measure Ph for the last few months but the colors are difficult to judge. I decided to purchase the 0.01 unit. The measuring device is very easy to use although a bit expensive when you include the buffer solutions, cleaning solutions and storage solutions. I use the 2 point calibration with 4 Ph and 7 Ph buffer solutions which takes about a minute to calibrate. I place a small amount of the buffer solutions in 2 separate spoons to do the calibration which is easy. Then it's just a matter of taking the measurement by placing the end of the probe in the water and wait for the reading to become stable. The stability occurs when the temperature reading becomes constant. Presto...you have a reading.Definitely recommend this instrument.

Order solutions as well

This tester is very easy to use, but the calibration instructions take a long, frustrating period of time to figure out. Once you get it, it makes sense thereafter, but the instructions could certainly be made more clear. It's extremely important to order cleaning, storage, and calibration solutions along with the unit. The probe must be kept wet during storage, and it's likely to have completely dried out when received, so storage solution is a must, and without calibration, it's just an nice piece of plastic. I recommend having 4.0, 7.0, and 10.0 calibration solutions on hand; the Hanna 500mL size bottles are a good choice.

works great

This product works great, but it is very hard to figure out from the directions given how to calibrate it. The directions are not very clear and too abbreviated. That is my only complaint. Also it tells you you have to buy certain solution to store it in and they don't give you any, not even a packet. Kay

Digital pH and Temp a Must

This product is great. I had little idea how much the temperature and pH of my 32 gallon reef tank fluctuated over the course of a day. This instrument has allowed me to focus on stabilizing the tank conditions. pH chemical testers and little thermometers just don't cut it. I'll never be without this instrument again. It's well worth the cost.

Hanna PH Tester

I like the tester and it is very accurate, however, when it arrived, the calibration was off. The instrument was shipped without a means to calibrate it. I later found a packet of buffer solution to calibrate. One must hold it in solution for about 30 seconds to get a stable reading.Don't forget to purchase the calibration packets and the cleaning solution during the initial purchase. Instructions are minimal at best. No more test strips for me.
