I have this running on a 27 cube that I've just set up. Thought about an Aquamaxx hang-on, but I didn't want to break the bank with what is for me a second "office" tank. I've been pleasantly surprised by the slim skim nano. It's easy to set up, very, very quiet, looks nice in the tank, and, most important, it skims, creating dry brown foam. So far, it's more than enough for this size tank with a light-mid bioload.

This skimmer produces a nice foam and is good quality. I would give it 5 stars if it was easier to fit in my tank.
The description of the product looks like even if you couldn't fit it in the back compartments of your tank, you could put it in the display portion of the tank. I have a 29 Biocube HQI and the lip on the tank prevents it from being installed in the display portion of the tank. You have to get very creative to fit it into the intake compartment of the back of the tank. I had to remove some plastic from the rim of the tank and the clips from the back of the skimmer. I then was able to fit the skimmer into this compartment with the water intake of the skimmer right up against the top intake grate of the compartment. It slid in fine until it hit the plastic lip about halfway down. I maneuvered it a little and pushed harder to get it in to the correct depth. The lid to the compartment does not fit back on, so I just have it sitting on top of the skimmer.
The manufacturer would do a great service to customers by providing installation recommendations for the major Nano-Cube style tanks on the market.

The Slim Skim (65G) variant is horrible. Loud, doesn't skim after weeks of 'break in' time...barely produces ANY bubbles internally for skimming actually.
Horrible, don't waste your money. Hydor is extremely slow at customer support as well, you will be on your own

I am pretty new to this hobby and this skimmer was very easy for me to setup and works flawlessly. I put the rubber band where they said to and I only have to dump the collection tray every other day. I would highly recommend this product.

I purchased the Nano Skim for my 29g tank. I have a light stocking, but this pulls out dark tea color skimmate. Wet skimmate with lots of bubbles. Operates well as a surface skimmer assuming you have an automated top-off to keep water at a constant level. This skimmer is small and well made.
My only complaints are that the skimmer cup neck is small/hard to clean and the magnetic clips for the back of the skimmer need to be stronger.

Changing collection cup every 2-3 days. Really good stuff. Also like to mention this DOES fit the Biocube 29 where the original skimmer was placed. You have to just trim the edges a bit. You are even able to close the lid over.

I bought this due to Mr. Saltwater Tank's recommendation but sadly it doesn't work in my Biocube 29 HQI. It will fit in chamber 2 with some modification but is very sensitive to water levels and being my levels change all the time due to semi clogged filter floss (that gets cleaned twice weekly) or evaporation it just didn't work in that tank unfortunately. And I also had to remove the HQI light every time to take off the collection cup to clean it...such a hassle.

I bought this to put in the sump of my JBJ 28 gal. nano cube. The area where the original skimmer goes is too small to accomodate this skimmer. A shame as it appears to be a will built item.

That's my main criticism with the Tunze nano, it feels cheap and plasticy. The Koralia nano on the other hand is solid. Tunze might have a bigger and better pump, the skimate I get out of the Koralia is way better than i get out of the Tunze. I just wish the collection cup was bigger.
