Hydor Koralia Smart Wave Pump Controller
Information
Smartwave is the new controller for movement and circulation pumps designed by Hydor. In nature, river and sea currents are a vital part of the natural life cycle of aquatic creatures as they promote oxygenation, transport nutrients and food and remove residues that would otherwise pollute.
Smartwave helps recreate these currents which allow a healthy aquarium and uniform water temperature by selecting one of the 2 available programs:
- Alternate: pump 1 ON – pump 2 OFF, pump 1 OFF - pump 2 ON.
- Synchronous: pump 1 and 2 go ON and OFF together.

- 2 outlets, both for up to 100W; Unit is UL approved and water resistant.
- 2 selection knobs, 1 for pump program (alternate-synchronous), 1 for time interval setting (second, minutes, hours)
- Feeding program. Compact, Smartwave is easy to conceal by hanging it inside the aquarium cabinet. Designed for Koralia’s, Smartwave works with most movement pumps available on the market compatible with quick ON-OFF (5 seconds= 6.3 million on/off per year)

Was working great but a few days short of a month in use one plug just quit while the other side works fine. Will send this one back and ask for a replacement. I like this device but its got to last longer if the next one does the same thing then I'm trying something else to control my pumps

This is an inexpensive way to create varied water flow in the tank. It is not the most sophisticated way to it, but the savings is hundreds of dollars. Mine is paired up w/ 4 Evolution pumps (2 per side) and it works flawlessly.

This is one great product. Especially for the price! Down side are the pumps they control. They all seem to like to "CLICK" on every time they are used, which sux; seems to annoy my fish. I would recommend "bitting the bullet" and spend your $$ on the EcoTech Marine MP10/40/60 powerheads. They run silent starts and offer better flow and control for the WHOLE tank vs. koralias. However, if you are on a budget and dont mind the "clicking," then this is your product; BUT, if you want performance and OVER ALL better tank conditions, check out the EcoTech Marine MP10/40/60 powerheads!

I have a small Reef tank mainly with Corals and Inverts. I added a second powerhead recently and purchased the Koralia Smart Wave and I love it.
I usually have the powerheads alternate back and forth every minute during the day, but when feed time comes, it's a simple dial turn to turn all the pumps off, so the water is more relaxing and the food doesn't blow all over the tank.
Highly recommend this product.

This product was reccomended to me by a commercial marine aquariast. Fairly new to the market, this wave controller has all of the features that the fancier, more expensive ones do. Its very user friendly with a fully automatic feed program for up to 2 feedings per day. The unit was easy to setup, and works fantastic. You get the performance of a $200 wave controller for under $75. I have mine matched with a pair of Koralia Evo powerheads, and I could not be happier with the product.

If you are on a budget this is a great little add on to your system and you can string a bunch of powerheads to it. For what you get for your money, it does what it is supposed to do. However, when Hydor's powerheads switch on and off, they make a clicking noise every time (even on the smaller ones). There is no slow-start feature on this item, only on and off switching. So, if you are thinking of getting one of these controllers, then consider the noise that will result from your powerheads switching on and off.

Excellent product from your money, preforms as intended and expected. This is a nice pump controller. I am currently using it on 2 Hydor Koralia Evolution 750s behind the rock work in my tank to keep things stirred up a bit.
